Upgrading to an Annual Pass

So, DS and I will be in WDW prior to our cruise in June. We are arriving on Tuesday, June 20 and staying at the AS-M for 1 night (room only). We are then transferring to BC as a package with 6 day park hoppers. We were planning to eat at 1900 Park Fare on our first night before we begin using our tickets on Wednesday June 21. I was planning to upgrade my ticket to an annual pass (for me only) on this trip. I would love to do this prior to our dinner so I can get the 10% discount for the dinner. Is this possible? It is my understanding that I can't prepurchase the AP since we need to have the same tickets for everyone in the room. Can anyone help me?

You need to take your ticket to any of the ticket booths prior to going to the restaurant to upgrade

Yes.
That would include the ticket booths at TTC at the MK parking lot and monorail/ferry boarding area.
Or at the Guest Relations/Ticket Booths outside the Magic Kingdom front gates.

It also can be done at the Disney Springs Welcome Center/Guest Relations.
