Months ago I receiver a four day ultimate park hopper ticket via the Hilton reward program. Can I go to the park ticket window and exchange/upgrade that 4 day to an Annual Pass or any other longer multiple day ticket?

I'll offer an opinion. :)

Since it was an award ticket and no cash was exchanged for it, I'm 99% sure Disney will treat it as a complimentary ticket. That means you can use it for its intended number of days with no problems at all but cannot upgrade it as it has no cash value. Disney bases the upgrade credit amount on what you originally paid for the ticket, not what a comparable ticket would be worth. Since you paid nothing, your value is nothing.

JMHO.

Adding to Golden Oldies opinion: Look on the back of the ticket, if it says "complimentary" there is no cash value. If there is a price on the back, go for it.

Nothing on the back that says "complimentary". It has "4 DAY PARK HOPPER PLUS PASS" and then the word "GUEST". Perhaps the word guest means it was "complimentary". If so, why would Disney care if the ticket was upgraded. A ticket is a ticket.

The way they do ticket upgrades is based on the CASH that was originally paid for the ticket.

What the CM does is scan the ticket and figure out the remaining value. If there was never a value (ie free) then they probably can't give you any credit. It won't hurt to ask though.

It doesn't have to say complimentary on it because it's an award ticket, not a comp ticket. The value will be encoded on the magnetic strip to show if it is a non-cash ticket. They will know instantly when they scan it at WDW.

I still have a pair of 5 day park hopper tickets from 1994. This was when they would stamp the date on them. I think I still have one admission left on both. I have been there since and noticed they now have a magnetic stripe. Can I use the old paper ticket for admission or do I need to go to a ticket window first.

Thanks.

Time to start packing soon!!!!!:jester: :smooth: :jester: :smooth: :jester: :smooth:

If you have a day left on it, it should be very easy to tell. Just count the stamps. If you do have a day left, you can use it as is without converting it. The only drawback to that is that every time you want to get a Fastpass, you will have to get the attraction CM to do an override for you as the old tickets don't work in the Fastpass machines. If you wanted to, you could exchange the old ticket at Guest Relations for a magnetic strip one but it is not necessary for a single day. It's really up to you which way you'd rather use it.
