OK, If I book the dining deal and get 4 7 day hoppers, I can use those to upgrade to annual passes and if so, does anyone know what that dollar amount would be?
Thanks and sorry if it's been asked before.

Oh- one more question. If there are 6 of us going but I only purchase 1 day tickets can just one person use those one day tickets if everyones else had annual passes?

Thanks again....

Yes, you can; no, I don't - but ticket prices are easy to locate and understand at Mousesavers.com, just subtract the price you pay for the seven-day ticket from the price of the AP; and yes, one person can use all the one day base passes, but won't be able to park hop. Well, technically they will but it'll cost $134 per day for that and they'd still be limited to just two parks. Or three in one day for $201, or all four for $268...

Also keep in mind that I was told that if you want to upgrade tickets purchased through a vacation package (a la free dining), then EVERYONE who is in the room must upgrade to the same ticket. While this makes no sense to me, and I don't know how they keep track and prevent it, this is what I was told. (So, you couldn't upgrade two ticket to APs and then let someone else use all the one day tickets for themselves, I don't think.)

GeorgiaAristocat, that's only the case if you wish to upgrade prior to arrival at WDW. Once you have checked in, you are free to upgrade as many or as few of the tickets as you chose.

A waste of money compared with one brand new multi-day pass bought on the spot if the vacation is longer than three days, even without hopping.

Well, since there are 6 of us in all and 4 of us need annual passes, I can buy those ahead of time. The other 2 that are joining us will not be returning to Disney anytime soon as 1 of them lives in Germany and the other is stationed in Afghanistan. So to me it makes sense to buy 4 annual passes, 1 6 day pass and let one person use all the 1 day passes. We don't intend to hop so that's not an issue.

Why not get 6-day passes for everyone and upgrade 4 of them to APs for the people that need them? Then the remaining 2 passes can be used by the people who will not be returning to WDW anytime soon.

By when do you have to upgrade the tickets? I will have AP's from a July trip that is planned. I want to take advantage of the free dining by buying just a 1 day ticket with the package and then use our AP's for park entry. Can I hold the 1 day tickets until our AP's expire and then upgrade them to AP's (July, 2007). Since I won't use the 1 day tickets I assume the 14 day expiration won't start? Does anyone know if this can be done?
