Upgrading tickets bought with Free Dining

Last year we were able to book free dining. We already had ap's from May so we booked with 1 day tickets. Our ap's will have expired before the next free dining.

If I book the free dining with 1 day tickets again, can I use the 1 day tickets from last year and the new ones I would get this year all towards buying AP's? Basically check into the hotel and then go to downtown disney (or a park) and use the tickets we just received plus the ones from last year? Does that make sense? Can I use 8 one day tickets towards aps?

I just called and asked the same question. You can only use, or upgrade, one ticket at a time. We have left over passes, too and wanted to combine those with the ones we will need to purchase this time to get APs. No deal, so I guess we will leave with 4 more one day passes.

I was wondering the same thing. We had Annual Passes last year and bought one day tickets to get the free dining. We have the same Annual Passes and are doing the free dining again. I was wondering if I could combine the two one day tickets to get an Annual Pass. Thanks for answering my question!

You can only upgrade one ticket toward each AP. So I would recommend using one of your 1-day tickets on the first day of your trip, and then taking the other 1-day ticket and upgrading it to an AP on the second day. That way you'll use them both up.

Thanks!
Bummer I can't use them all towards the ap upgrade, but at least I can use one :smooth:

Since you will only extend your annual passes by one day by using both tickets, perhaps you could donate your single day ticket to a local charity that takes disadvantaged or mentally/physically challenged children to Disneyworld for one day trips. Just a thought. For us, it would make the trip even more magical, to be spreading the wealth!

I'm curious about this. Our one day tickets are on our room keys from our last trip, so they have our names on them. Our new ones will be on the room keys for this trip, so they will also have our names on them. Could someone else even use them?

My understanding is that if the park ticket has never been used, anyone can use it. It is not transferable after first use. I may be wrong on this, however.

My guess is that techincally, they are not transferrable, and so you really shouldn't be able to donate them. In practice, as no one has used them, and therefore have no biometrics associated with them, they could be given away, and no one would be the wiser. If, however, Disney wanted to check an ID, the person on the receiving end could be in trouble. We decided to just hang on to the extra passes. We will upgrade one set this time, and another set on our next rip. I doubt we will be lucky enough to continue to see free dining every trip! :rotfl2:

We will probably do that same thing.
And hey, we never thought we would see the free dining this time either, right? :cool1:
