Upgrading tickets and DVC discount

I want to make sure I understand how to do this before we arrive in early December.

I have several 1 day tickets from previous trips and I want to apply them to either season passes or just number of days tickets for some members of our family.

I think I understand that there is a DVC $100 off a season pass and I know that our DD is wanting a season pass so I plan on using one of the one day tickets to upgrade for her. Her address on her DL is the same as mine as owner. I think I understand that she should use the ticket first and then upgrade it in order to get the most value out of it. Or at least I think I have this right!:lmao:

I also have two room key tickets from a trip two years ago. Each ticket was a one day with three pluses on it. We had planned on doing Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Quest, and Adventurer's Club one day and ended up going to the ocean instead.

I would like to make those two tickets upgraded tickets for DH and my other DD for more days (for two tickets not just one, I think I can only apply one ticket per upgrade?). Am I going to have a problem because the name on the one room key is my friends? It was never used at all so I know it does not expire. I wanted to apply my ticket for DH to upgrade. Is this going to work or are the different names going to cause a problem?

Who can I call and ask this and where do we do the upgrades? Our first day is at the MK.

I think you can only upgrade tickets within ten days of first use. At least, we have sets of old tickets that we are using one day from this set and two from that and the plusses from a third and they won't let us do anything with them when we ask......

:confused3 These tickets have never been used. They are all 1 day tickets that were attached to our room reservations in order to get the dining plan.

I thought that we could use them to upgrade?

Upgrade can only be done on any unused ticket upto 14 days after first use.

Only one ticket per upgrade.

Using a ticket before upgrading will give you the current gate value of the type of ticket you use.

As far as the name issue, I'm not sure. I think you could asked to have the park tickets removed from the room key and given a paper ticket. Then use the ticket, then upgrade.

Upgrades can be done at Guest Services at the parks.

I found a ticket number (407-566-4985 #2) and I called. I spoke to Cheryl.

She informed me that I can use the tickets I have to upgrade. She said the names on the room keys would not matter. What matters is the fact that they were never used by anyone.

She also said that unused tickets can be gifted to someone. So if the room key ticket has my name on it, I can gift it to DH to use. Again this is only with unused tickets!:goodvibes

:yay: :woohoo: :dance3:

Thanks Disneycouple99 for posting the link to Cheshire Figment's thread. I found that phone number on her thread!

I was wondering the same thing. We also have 1 day tickets from past free dining trips and I was wondering if we could apply them towards AP's if we use the DVC discount too. If we can that's very cool!
