Upgrading Ticket Question

I hope someone can help with my ticket question. We are spending two days in the parks this week. We were going to buy two day, single park tickets.

We just found out that we each have a free/comped ticket for one day, one park. Hooray!

Now we need to turn these into two day tickets. I'd like to know if we will be paying the full price for a second one day ticket or if we can work it so that we can pay the decreased 2nd day price.

According to the Universal website, one day is $500 (before tax) for our family. Two days is $729.95.

So, in a perfect world, I'd like to pay $229.95 (the difference between one day and two days), rather than a second set of one day tickets ($500).

Has anyone done this and, if so, which price do you pay?

i don't know if comped tickets can be upgraded.

ok, now i know.........
i thought i read that many times before but hesitated stating it as a fact.

i would hate to be dragged thru the coals for screwing up on that question.......:tiptoe:

In your case, I'd at least try and upgrade the tickets before you enter the park. Like Alesia said, if they are truly comp tickets it's unlikely that they can be upgraded but it never hurts to ask. If they can't be upgraded, instead of buying 5 more 1 day tickets you could buy two 2 day tickets and 1 single day ticket. Have 2 people each use 2 of the comped tickets, have 2 people use 2 day tickets, and have the last person use 1 comped ticket and the 1 day ticket. That would be $400 instead of the $500 you were looking at. But I'd still double check on upgrading first.

Good thought to shuffle them around like that, but they each have our names on them. Looking more closely at them, I'm not sure they are true comp tickets. It does say "purchased by" and has a name on each ticket. They are e-tickets, printed on 8.5 x 11 printer paper. Them more I look at them, the more I think it may be more of a purchase/reimbursement situation than an official "comp" ticket. So, free to us, but maybe Universal is getting paid by the company. I'll definitely check at the gate.

when i had comp tickets, it was listed as complimentary ticket on the back.
