It looks like it makes sense to buy AP's this trip, I saw the Power pass is $159 and I think one of us will get the higher one in order to get the hotel discounts. Here is the dilemna... I already bought the AAA 7 day tickets that were $105 a while ago. I've never used them so does Universal read the ticket and know I spent 105 and apply the full amount to the 159?

Also, I have one day left from a 3 day pass years ago when the days didn't expire. It was a 2 park hopper pass with just the one day. If they prorated what I trully paid it might only be a $30 credit towards the AP, but if they give me the amount a one day 2 park ticket is nowadays it might be much more and then I'd prefer to use this. Any idea on how that would work?

If you don't know, but think you know the number to call that would also be helpful.

You should get the $105.00 credited towards the AP price but you can't use multiple tickets towards the cost...only one. So you couldn't get credit for both the three day pass and the AAA tickets towards the AP. Also...just to make sure you know...Power Passes are for FL residents only.

Ok. What is I don't use the AAA tickets and use the other one instead? I would use that towards the preferred power pass which is 219. Is that the cheapest one I can buy since I am not a FLA resident?

You won't be able to use the 3 day ticket because the expiration date on your AP will be exactly one year from the first day that you used the 3 day ticket. So your AP would be expired from "years ago."

That's really interesting. So they don't activate the AP when you upgrade but instead when the ticket you are upgrading from was activated. I never knew that!

Yes, that's true. So if you have a 7 day ticket and decide to upgrade to an AP on the last day, the AP is dated from the first visit on that ticket. That's why you get the full value of the ticket on that upgrade and not just the value of the one day left on it.

Wow, you learn something new everyday here on the forum!

Thanks, I will either use my AAA tickets towards a annual pass or I might just save the AAA tickets for another trip and then get an annual this year.

There is rumor in my family about going over Tday in addition to this summer so I will need to see if that firms up before I decide.

I appreciate all the info : )
