Upgrading PH to AP and other ???

I have a 5 day PH that I'm upgrading to an AP on my first day. Not using the MM, we aren't early risers. Do I have to enter the park with my PH before I can upgrade it. I know I've read something like that on here but thinking maybe that only applied to those using the PH to get in for MM or a block out day.

Other question is: I know there's exclusive AP pin trading products, is there anything else? I'm bummed that the popcorn buckets are all gone. This will be my first AP and I don't want to miss out on anything special!

You don't have to enter the park first, you can go straight to the ticket booth. I'd say if the lines are long, you may be better off going to the parks first, then upgrading later in the day. They sometimes have AP exclusive items, I know there is an AP exclusive lanyard medallion for the 60th. You should follow the AP accounts on Twitter and FB for updates on offers. But it's almost impossible to participate in every AP opportunity DL offers. And there's no guarantee there will be anything available during any given trip.

If you are getting a Deluxe pass you will be blocked out on Saturday so you will want to upgrade on Sunday.
