Sorry, I know it might have been talked about before, but I was wondering if anyone knows about upgrading passes, DVC, and going from a 10 day pass to the dual park Premium? pass. This is what I'm thinking, but don't know if it will work...

1. I have the 10 day PH - so I can get 10 days of FP+
2. After the first 3 days(reducing the FPs down to 7), upgrading to Platinum Plus Pass with DVC Discount(~$100 off with DVC)
3. Before leaving, upgrading to Premium pass so I can use it at Land also (No DVC discount)

Do you think this is the largest discount on the passes? Will they give me the discount of the first AP, or will they make me pay that ~$100 when I buy the next AP? I'm going to try to do this with 4 passes at Xmas, so I was wondering.

When you upgrade to the premier pass you loose any discount that was given on a lower level pass. That amount will be due at the time you purchase the premier pass.

Unless you're a California resident or unless you're trying to spread out how much is coming out of pocket at a single time, there really isn't a point to get the DVC pass and then upgrading to the Premier pass. The Premier pass price is set and there isn't really a way to discount it, other than if you pay less for your original tickets someway and you are able to bridge your tickets to an AP somehow (my knowledge on this is admittedly very limited and unclear). When you upgrade an existing pass to the Premier pass, the Premier pass maintains the same expiration date as the original pass and does not reset. The only thing I'm not certain of is how the current promotion on WDW passes lasting 13 months is affected if you upgrade a WDW pass to the Premier pass.
