Upgrading pass

We upgraded to the premium (includes disneyquest and waterparks) when we exchanged our vouchers: we walked up to the ticket window at MK and said we wanted to upgrade our vouchers and handed over a credit card. The whole process took about 20 minutes because we also added on the DDE to our annual passes.

It was pretty straightforward.

Hope that helps.

How much did it cost?

The Disney Dining Experience was 85$ total (one add on is 60$ and 25$ for an additional one for a partner/spouse): we each got one because we figured for the wedding we might be dining separately.

The upgrade to premium was around 140$ for each of us. Granted, that might be alot but we figured we got the AP's free and we wanted access to Disney Quest.

Do you recieve a seperate card for DDE when you upgraded or is it on your annual pass?

The DDE is a separate card (which seemed odd to me). While we were there for our planning session, we ate at table service restaurants at lunch and dinner every day (we were there for 6 days). Also, both sets of parents (and step-parents) were there, so some meals consisted of 8 of us. Huge discount. Like I said, totally worth it!

So, the DDE is for the whole party dining... not just yourself? So, if my whole family goes to dinner and the bill is $200 and I'm the only one with DDE card, the discount is for everyone and the bill or just me and my meal?

Your DDE would be applied to the entire group's check, but only up to 8 people. So, for example, I used my DDE card one day at lunch (for 4 of us), and my dad paid for the meal on his credit card.

Also, you can't split the check. Not all restaurants accept the DDE. Tokyo dining doesn't take DDE, but it does take the AP discount off the meal check.

The DDE is pretty slick and easy, I think: not alot of rules and no points to sort out.

Five people in our group have the Dining Plan and DF and I don't. Would we still be able to use the DDE card to save money off our part of the bill?

I don't know much about the dining plans. Maybe ask on the restaurant board if you can use the DDE on your part of the bill.

I just googled and found this link with DDE info.
