Upgrading MYW Tickets

We're going to Orlando on this Thursday, checking in to CSR on Sunday to take advantage of the "free dining" offer (staying until Friday). Since we have extra old tickets we're taking our TAs advice and only getting 4 one day tickets to qualify for the free dining and then upgrading some of them when we get there (probably to 10 days). Is it possible to "upgrade" MYW tickets several times (I'm sure things are tracked on the coded strip). By this I mean can we upgrade the one day to a 10 day (and of course pay the difference) then later on add on the hopper and plus features as well as the "no expiration) since there's no way we're going to use 10 days this trip. We have one 7 day hopper plus child's ticket that hasn't been used yet that I'd like to convert to a 10 day (would only cost a bit more). I know this can be done and that way we'll be set for Elizabeth.

If you are not going to use your MYW tickets during this trip then I wouldn't worry about upgrading until later unless you want to get the 2005 ticket price right now. I don't think there should be a problem upgrading multiple times but beware. If you upgrade to 10 day base tickets and use a couple of days and then try to uprade to hopper or no expire you will have to pay the difference between the original purchase of a 10 day hopper/no expire and a 10 day base. I would just upgrade to what you want all at one time.

It is not recommended to utilize two different tickets during the same vacation unless both are partially used from the past or unless the vacation is so long that one of the tickets is 10 days and expiring and completely consumed.

If a new ticket is needed, buy just one to span the entire vacation if possible. For arrival on Thursday, a few nights off site, checking in and starting the package on Sunday, and leaving on Friday (8 or 9 park days) the best deal is a new 8 or 9 day expiring pass purchased immediately, saving the old tickets and the 1 day package tickets with or without Sunday upgrading for the future.

If the unused child ticket was purchased after 1/1/05 and did not have non-expiration, it can be made into the 8 or 9 day expiring pass for one child.

If you are going to do water parks and you schedule results in 7 or fewer days in the theme parks, then 10 day non-expiring passes with plus pack make sense too.

Tickets more than 14 days since first use, andalso pre-2005 hopper plus and plain hopper tickets, cannot be upgraded, only traded up towards another ticket. The exchange rate is usually bad, but ask the trade up value and step out of line to do number crunching before you do the trade up.
