Upgrading Military Magic Your Way tickets to AP

Hi,
We are staying on site for 21 days in 2022. I want to buy regular (non salute) myw tickets (with a military discount) to use to upgrade to annual passes. I know the savings is small, but it’s a bit more than 3rd party resellers. I want to make reservations for length of stay but will need an annual pass to make this many days of reservations.

Questions.
To get a price bridge, do I need to use the ticket before upgrading? (If so, I wouldn’t be able to make reservations ahead of time for all my days.)
If I add them into my Disney app now, will I be able to upgrade them to annual passes directly from my app and keep the small savings?
If not, can I call in and have them upgraded to AP now and keep the small savings?

thanks everyone!

Edited to add:
Thanks to Robo and everyone on here, I’m not a newbie- I’ve price bridged third party tickets at both DL and WDW prior to covid, so I don’t need tons of details - Just need to know what’s happening now.

Another question I haven’t seen the answer to -
Can I buy a 10 day ticket on a more expensive date (after my travel date but in the same year as I’m traveling) to save a bit more? Since I can get a greater discount for the pricier holiday dates than I can for my specific dates.

1. Nope.
2. Maybe.
3. Yes.
4. You can try.
5. Yes.
6. You mean by paying more for the standard ticket, you would save more "later" when paying for the upgrade. -Yes. (Like "banking" your ticket money.)

Thank you so much, Robo! As a lurker for years, I feel like I was answered by a celebrity! Lol okay, am I missing something in regards to numbers 2/4? You said you don’t see a “need” - My on site stay is 21 days straight and if I only have a 10 day ticket, I won’t have park reservations for all my days when I get there, unless I upgrade to an AP now before I go…. Right? If I have an AP can’t I reserve park days for each day of my on site stay?

Ah Hah!
I skimmed over your 21 day on-site stay.

If you can't do the AP upgrade directly yourself,
when you call, be sure to explain carefully and ask nicely.
