Upgrading GAD tickets

Please forgive me in advance, this question has already probably been answered. I dont get a chance to read here too often and don't see it in the first few pages and no you are all so good at helping!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me for sure if what I want to attempt to do is ok. I wanted to upgrade our GAD vouchers for the new weekday pass. I wanted to go see David Cassidy this weekend but my son has classes on Friday so that day is kind of bad for us. Then it struck me that if we just use the pass on say, Sat or Sun and then upgrade after(you have 2 weeks, right?) then I could use the voucher for a weekend day and still buy the weekday pass for the rest of the year, right? Does this sound right? I would just upgrade them the same day I use them, so would that make a difference? I just dont want to be told, sorry you used this on a weekend so now you cant buy the weekday pass. Any advice would so greatly be aprreciated! Thanks!

GAD tickets can be upgraded to multi day tickets on the day they are used.

However, the multiday ticket has to be used within 14 days of first use (GAD day).

It sounds like you want to upgrade your GAD ticket to one of those Fl resident only passes right?

Once you have excahnged the GAD voucher to a ticket and used that ticket, you have 14 days to upgrade to any park pass you are entitled to purchase.

There is one problem in upgrading to a Florida Resident Seasonal or Weekday Select Pass; you cannot do the upgrade on a blockout day if you have used the pass on that day. So if you use the GAD ticket on a Saturday, you would not be able to go to a Weekday Select on that day, but would have to wait for a day where you had not yet entered the park.

Chershire, I am still slightly confused though(doesnt take much,lol) So you saying I cannot upgrade the pass on the Saturday,if I use my pass that day.(I get that part) but I can go back on another day during the week, after I already used it on that Sat and upgrade it then? Or are you saying if I want to do the upgrade to weekday, then I have to use the pass for the first time on a weekday? Sorry, if I sound dense. lol. I just dont want to use it on a Sat and then waste it since my main goal is to upgrade for weekday pass.

The key to this question is that if they upgrade a pass to another one on a blockout date for the new pass, effectively thet have allowed you to use that pass on that blocked out day.

If you upgrade on a day that is blocked out (a weekend day) you cannot go into the park on that day.

I know it appears strange, but that is the way the rules are set up.

Thank you. That is why I was wondering to begin with. I understand rules and dont mind them at all. Just want to know the right ones before I tell someone else who wants to try it too. You said I can do it Sunday though. But that day is a blockout day, so I am still confused. lol. I am so sorry! Or do you mean I can upgrade it on Sunday but just not go into the park.

Let me try it this way. I go and use my voucher to get in on Sat. Can I go back on Monday and upgrade it? Or have I given up that chance because I used the voucher on a Sat which isnt allowed for the type pass I want(the weekday one). That is my main concern.

I am sorry to be annoying, but I'm not sure if you saw this last post yet. I wasn't 100% clear on if I can go back on Monday and upgrade after using GAD on Sat. I do have one more question that might be slightly unusual. I am a sports enthusiast volunteer for the Marathons,etc. Can we upgrade these one day tickets that we earn? I've never thought about it before, but if so I can just use on of those if I have to. I'd like to save them for special occasions during the black out dates of the weekday pass though if I can, so I really didn't want to. The thing is I need to see David Cassidy this weekend,so I need to figure this out now,lol.
