upgrading from 5 day park hopper to DVC gold pass

It's been awhile and I need to confirm this is what I want to do. If I purchase 5 day park hopper tickets so I can make FP+ at the 60 day mark, once I am at WDW and have been in a park, I can then upgrade to a DVC Gold Pass. I tried the search function and didn't find this info, but I think this is what I did the last time we were at WDW. Thanks for the help

Yes, absolutely you can do that. Just so you know there is a deal right now for DVC members, you get the platinum plus for the price of the gold.

I just did this last month. I went to Guest Services at AK and upgraded my 5 day hopper to the platinum plus as soon as we got there. I think the difference was only $121.

Are you getting a deal on the 5 day park hopper? If not, you can just purchase a DVC Gold AP voucher, link it to your MDE account and make FPs with that. If you are buying from a third party like UT then you can upgrade once at Disney but you do not have to enter a park first. This can be done at any ticket window or guest relations.
