Tossing around the idea of another trip in less than a year. I am not ready to commit to that yet. We have 5 day hoppers for this trip. When we use all 5 days, then bring the used tickets home with us, can we then upgrade them to APs after the fact, even a few months down the road? Or do I need to upgrade before the last day is used up? Is an upgrade even possible? Sorry if this has been asked before, search is disabled...TIA

To Upgrade they apply unused days to the cost of an AP pass. So if you use all of your days you will have nothing to offer. You need to upgrade first to make this cost effective.

They can be upgraded but it must be done like so:

A) If you haven't used the ticket yet, you can upgrade it to an AP by paying the difference in price plus tax.

B) If you are within the first 7 days since you used the first admission, you can upgrade it and pay the difference in price plus tax between the two. The AP will be back dated to the date you first used the PH ticket. The upgrade has to take place prior to the close of business on the day you use your last park day, even if it is less than 7 days from the first use to do this.

C) If you are past the first 7 days window, you can apply the dollar value of any unused theme park admissions towards the purchase of your AP and then pay the balance. The upgrade has to take place prior to the close of business on the day you use your last park day. If you upgrade on the last day, you will get a one day's dollar credit towards the AP. The AP will start on the day you do the upgrade.

D) If you have used up all the admissions and go home, the ticket will not be upgradeable on your next WDW trip. It will be worth zero.

You must go to a Guest Relations location at the theme parks or DTD to do any of these upgrades.
