Upgrading donated tickets?

My sons' school is having a silent auction tomorrow and among the items are a 4 pack of 1-day park hopper tickets. I'm assuming the tickets were donated as opposed to purchased but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if these type of tickets can be upgraded to a 2 day park hopper by paying the difference between one and two days? Or are donated typically only for use "as is"? Our family of 5 is going next month for two days in the park so I'd love to buy them but would need to add a day.

I would think that a ticket is a ticket. And if we're going with that, then yes, you can. I think the biggest thing is to know their value. You aren't saving anything if you end up paying more than its worth, you know? Check out what the ticket prices are for a 1 day PH ticket for the specific days you're going and keep that in mind when you bid.

I don't necessarily want to pay more than what they're worth but buying them at the school auction gives the money to my kids' school directly ($440 value) rather than to Disney. Disney already has plenty

Would it depend on whether they were donated by Disney or by an individual? I mean, I could buy 4 1-day PHs and donate them. Disney would never know I had....right?

The tickets will say on them. If they are donated and unable to be upgraded, the tickets will say "Complimentary" which means the ticket has no value. If someone bought them and donated them, they will say 1 Day ticket and will not say Complimentary.

If you buy them, and they are comped tickets, hace 2 people use 2 tickets and buy 2 day tickets for the rest. Cheaper.

I’m in charge of our school’s gala and silent auction and just looked at the tickets that came in and they say they aren’t upgradable. Ours came as a direct donation from Disney.

ETA: Disney usually donates 4 One day hoppers, so I’m going to guess they are the same as what your school has.
