upgrading AP ?

What is the price difference between the SoCal select and the SOCal AP? Thanks!

$40, $169 for SoCal and $129 for SoCal Select.

we could upgrade the pass for the same amount it would cost to get a blackout pass? That's weird.... I don't forsee us going again before the pass expires, so it really isn't needed to upgrade. I read that if you have a blockout pass, you can sometimes get 2 FP's at once..one with the blackout tic, and one with your AP? Is this true? I need to decide if we should get the BO pass or upgrade our AP's. Any benefits of one over the other? Not counting the extra days you get with for the rest of the year by upgrading. TIA!!

Actually it depends on what day you go. If you go on a day that is a black out for both passes you have to buy a Black out ticket and then can apply it to a upgrade at the end of the trip. Otherwise if the new ticket has a open day then you would probably just upgrade cause its easier.

I think because the AP is not scanned since the blackout ticket is, I think the AP is not shown as used. But honestly I can't say we have ever tried this is all the times we have used DH's AP on a blackout day (he has a lower pass then I since I go much more frequently). I think the ease of just upgrading isn't worth the extra FP's but then I hardly use FP's.

Well, the day we want to go is not a blocked day on the upgraded pass. How do I upgrade? Do I do it at the AP processing center? Or at the ticket booth?

Ticket Booth, you pay for the upgrade and then I believe they will send you to DCA for a quick pick up of your new pass.
