So we are heading back home in 3 more days. Our APs expire next month so we are getting another trip in. We have read several times over we should be able to upgrade one of our DVP APs to the gold pass that includes photopass downloads. My question comes with the timing though. We have plans basically as soon as we get there and might end up doing pictures before I upgrade one of the passes. Will that matter? If I do the update the following morning or something will I still be able to download the pictures from the night before?

I upgraded in Oct to the gold AP (From the old reg DVC AP) and yes my photos were retroactive (ones taken earlier in the day before the upgrade were avail). Actually I recently connected to another family member who we met up with on our may trip and once I connected to them I was able to see their photos taken in August of last year (2 months before I upgraded to the gold AP).

What is the best way to upgrade to the Gold pass? And how much is it from the DVC pass? We got our passes last August, and now that they have the photopass downloads added, I want to take advantage, if it's not too much $$.

I have the DL AP with download and LOVE getting our ride photos now! I would use that photopass account, but apparently they're not linked between DL and WDW, even though they were about 7 years ago!

I believe the price difference between the old DVC Annual Pass and the new DVC Gold Pass is around $20 (plus tax). Also, the Gold Pass has blockout dates (week before & after Easter and last half of December).

If you want to upgrade, stop at any Park Ticket Window or Guest Relations Location and tell them you want to upgrade your pass to the Gold Pass. Keep in mind that your expiration date will remain unchanged.

Thanks! I just checked the block-out dates and we're good. Our passes expire in August and we'll be there over the 4th of July, so we're good!
