Upgrades?

Can a room upgrade happen when you book through a TA or only if you book through DCL?

Our very first cruise, we booked thru Costco Travel, and were upgraded from a cat 12 to a cat 9. So I guess you have as much chance booking with a travel agent as you do any other way.

Upgrades can happen with any way you book it....early, late, TA, DCL.....there is really no rhyme or reason to it. In the overall scheme of things they are rare.

Book what you will be happy with and if any upgrades happen, wonderful!!! Don't set yourself up for disappointment by booking something you will not be satisified with and then be miserable when an upgrade did not happen.

Some rooms catageories that have an obstructed view will cost at a lower category price. When we went, we paid for a room with a port hole, but had a room with a balcony that was obstructive. Call DCL and ask for the room #'s. Hope this helps.
