upgrades

Just wondering what people say when asking if an upgrade is available at the resort. Do you ask?? I am going in January and planning on the Contemporary. I wondered if more upgrades are available during the value season.

I guess it really depends on what type of upgrade you want and if you are willing to pay? I would assume that any upgrades would be easier to get during value season but I would not count on anything. I have heard of people being upgraded at n/c, I have heard of people upgraded for a small amount of $$ and I have heard of many more people not getting upgraded at all. I guess the bottom line is to not get your hopes us but it never hurts to ask!!! Just be very, very pleasant and flash a big smile

We were upgraded at WL last July from a standard room to a courtyard view room at n/c!

Both times i've stayed on resort (wl and bwv) we were upgraded from standard to courtyard for free without asking...we checked in early and they didn't have a standard available but had the courtyard available so they gave it to us. I should say we were there in very low attendance seasons so I'm sure this helped some.
