We leave in 2 weeks for 12 days at WDW (staying at the Boardwalk Inn). The inlaws are going to spend five days with us on the Concierge level and my wife is hoping to get a room close to them. Does anyone know if there is any chance of getting an upgrade (preferrably gratis) at the time we check in.

Thanks.

Never hurts to ask...but don't hold your breath.

Are your reservations linked in any way with the concierge booking? That might help. You could just call CRO or whoever made the reservations for you and ask them to cross-reference the reservations.

I have had the good fortune to be upgraded TWICE to concierge at the BWI, and wouldn't mind it at all for my upcoming stay in May. Both times we checked in at an off season, weekend, and short stay. Both times were also very late check-ins, nearly midnight, so by that time I expect everyone who was going to check in had done so. Rooms are just the same, only you get the use of the lounge with continental breakfast and treats during the day. I don't think the offerings are as substantial as the Poly and the GF, but if you get it gratis, who could complain!? Oh, and I never asked for the upgrade, and the front desk didn't inform me of the upgrade at check-in either. We found out by trying to locate the room number! I would think the front desk would be happy to tell you "you've been upgraded to concierge" if only to see how happy it would make you. Good luck to you, and me too!!

For a 12 day stay, I doubt they will give you a free upgrade to concierge level.
