Upgraded!!!!

We just got back last night from the Contemporary Resort. We paid for a standard wing room and we're upgraded to a tower room on the 7th floor with a view of the castle. It was so great. We loved being able to watch teh fireworks from our room without going outside especially with all the mosquitos. We had a great stay. Everything was about as perfect as one could ask for.
One quick note...I did hear a manager telling another couple that the north wing was being demolished but I couldn't hear what was being built in it's place...DVC???

Congrats! That's some pixie dust! I know that people are always asking about upgrades and I haven't seen that many actually get to tower (MK view at that!) from standard wing. CR was our first resort and we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite. We had booked connecting rooms for my family and my sister/DH so we were given the Jr. Suite which really served the purpose well. We have always loved the CR.

Do upgrades just magically happen or is there something I can do to increase my chances?

Sept 24th to Oct. 1 and were also upgraded from the standard garden wing to the tower with a view of the Magic Kingdom. It was great!!!
