Upgraded to concierge at WL! Woo Hoo!

Just had to say we were upgraded to conceirge for no additional fee last week, while at WL! Loved it, but was wondering if they did this because we were first timers to WDW? Do you suppose they are trying to lure us back? How did we get so lucky? Just curious if anyone had any thoughts? The funny part is, we used wegoshop.com to buy us cereal, beer, and snacks. Oh well!
Loved WL without the upgrade and would definately go back!

So glad you had some pixie dust sprinkled upon you on your vacation. It is very easy to get used to the concierge level. On our 1st stay at Wilderness Lodge three years ago we were upgraded to concierge for a very small fee. I always laugh and say they knew exactly what they were doing when they gave us the upgrade, because now my DH won't stay there unless we stay concierge. We are headed back there next month and we are staying concierge level. It sounds like you had a nice vacation with the added surprise of the upgrade.

Just curious, when you were offered the upgrade for a small fee had you inquired about it, or did the CM just make you an offer? Would love to get an upgrade to concierge for a small fee (of course free would be nice ), but don't think I could swing the full price.

That's GREAT! I'm curious too....did they just offer it to you or did you ask for an upgrade? We are staying next week. That would be such a treat!!

I didn't ask for the upgrade, it was just offered. I did ask if it was possible to get a room in our category with a view of the fireworks. And lo and behold we were offered concierge for $25.00/night. We had a wonderful experience. It was our first stay at Wilderness Lodge and it was truly magical.

When we checked in, they told me we had been upgraded to concierge for no additional fee! I did not even ask...she just told me! I was so surprised and exhausted because we arrived late (10:30pm) so I did not ask any questions!

I never said a word about being upgraded...she just said very nicely "you have been upgraded to concierge at no additional cost"! Not sure how or why, but I was not about to ask! I am still guessing it is because it was our first trip to WDW and for our return, they want us to go back to them again.

In 2001 we got also got the WL upgrade to concierge without asking. It was only 2 months after 9/11 and was very quiet there so I figured thats why we got it. Of course we got spoiled and now want to try all the concierges.
