... and received $104 for each ticket towards the annual pass price. A lot better than taking the fifty dollars off the event price. Shows how DVC could have given a better discount to members who already had annual passes.
For those who are interested, we wound up paying $84 per point for our add on at SSR. They offered the $89 price to existing members for MH and $10 off with "magical beginnings", or $5 off with "Saratoga Cash". We took the $5 off because you didn't give up your first years points. It also came with a signed limited edition lithograph of Sleeping Beauty that DVC had an estimated retail value of $495. We felt that $84 per point with the extra 12 years and the lithograph was a decent deal. We're less than thrilled with our original guide who didn't get in touch with us while we were down there. I left a message stating that we were interested in an add on and the resort we were staying at. She left a message on our home phone that I got yesterday. The guide who did the add on for us was decent. He was able to read that I didn't want the sales pitch and got the paperwork going. We were in and out in an hour and that included ice cream in the new parlour. I let the woman who handled the signing of paperwork now that we would like to see an annual pass discount, and she said that was the number one request from members. But it's up to Disney and not DVC whether to give a discount yadda, yadda, yadda. Any questions? I'd be happy to answer them.:wave:

Excellent thinking about upgrading to an AP. Glad you got the true value of your park hoppers. Shame on the fact that DVC only offered a $50 dollar discount for the same (and that was an after the fact discount).

is there any way to turn the mh pass into ap pass from home, by mail???????

i left my sales person 2 messages while there and still heard nothing. i wanted to add on as well.

Hi jweiss,
I don't know if you can do it from home, but I would find out soon. The tickets had an expiration date of 5/31/04 I believe. They were not the standard park hoppers that never expire. I had to go to guest relations at MK to get the annual pass and the credit for the other passes. There are also guest relations at each of the other parks and downtown disney. Try calling WDW. As far as the add on, I didn't even bother with my sales guide after not getting any response from her. I went to the DVC information desk at WL and asked them to make an appointment with any guide available.

Can you tell me what exactly you did with the MH tickets. Did you not use them at all and then traded them for the AP, paying the difference? I wish I would have thought of that!

disneychick05,
That's exactly what I did. I arrived four days prior to MH and took the tickets to guest relations, where they sell annual passes.

Hi Mark,
It was nice meeting the two of you. The pins you made went right into the MH memory box.
Thanks,
Chris::yes::

Very smooth indeed!
Definitely the plan for the next event which I will definitely be attending!

I am glad someone at WDW allowed you to put the Member Homecoming pass towards an annual pass. Our annual passes expired in May (I received a renewal notice, but husband never did). We decided not to renew at this time, but if we could have used the MH passes toward renewal, then we probably would have renewed. We asked a Guest Relations CM & were told we had to go through whoever issued the ticket. I kept asking her who issued the ticket & she acted like she had no idea. Oh well, next time :)!
