For anyone considering a trip to Disneyland I recommend that if you think you might want park hopper passes that you get them when you first purchase your tickets.

In the past they said that once you arrived, you could go to the ticket booth and upgrade them for a cost of approximately $50 which generally covered your whole trip. However that is no longer really available. AND, there is no way to do it yourself online.

Let me tell you my experience. We got a 5-day single park pass. On one of the days I decided to upgrade my wife and I to Park Hopper since other people in our group had park hoppers. I went to the ticket window and was told that it was not going to happen. Here is why -- Despite the fact that we had tickets already and park entry already scheduled for one park. They said we could only upgrade to park hopper if there was also entry available TO SCHEDULE at the second parK. I said that made no sense because we would be going at 1:00 when they let anyone in without scheduling. But they said they could only sell us park hopper tickets if there was also scheduling availability for the days we wanted to use them!!! I verified this by going to a second ticket Window and trying to purchase them there. You can only upgrade to park hoppers if the second resort is also available to schedule during the time that you already have your stay scheduled. Naturally this is not going to happen. They currently are booking out park entry reservations COMPLETELY by several weeks in advance.

So since you can't do the upgrade yourself online, and you can only do it at the park while you are there, and since there will be no scheduling availability by the time you arrive at the park for that week or the following week, you will not be able to get Park Hoppe upgrades.

So if you think you might want park hoppers get them right at the beginning. It is only an additional charge of about $50 or $55 to cover all of your days on your ticket.

please listen to Frederic!! Everything has changed at Disneyland since they were closed for a year during COVID. A ticket does not guarantee you entrance to either park!! you must have a ticket and a reservation!!! buyer beware....
