Upgrade to AP from MYW, "Broken Split" Stay Question

Currently I have a six night package at POFQ including base tickets, then I am leaving the area for two days, then coming back to SSR for three nights (room only). I have read the master post about split stays, and assuming I had tickets for the entire period (which I could easily increase to 9-10 on my POFG packiage) I could book FP+ for all of my days back to back. But since I have a "break" in my onsite stay, would increasing the MYW ticket allotment work for the last three days? Can you buy more ticket days than your "package" provides for? Or am I going to have to wait until the tickets get activated anyway to be able to make FP+ for those last three days so might as well leave it at 6 days? In any event, I'm planning to upgrade my MYW tickets to a Premiere pass so would it be best to do it at the beginning of the trip because then I could go in right away and do the FP+ for the last three days at SSR? And if you do upgrade it doesn't affect the entitlement to the FP+ reservations you have already made does it?

Can you buy more ticket days than your "package" provides for?

Yes. You can increase your tickets to a total of 10 days, if needed.

Because you have the 2-day break between onsite stays, you have 2 separate stays.

60 days before Stay #1, you'll be able to book for all the park days for Stay #1. 60 days before Stay #2, you can book the rest of your park days.

At what time during your trip are you planning to upgrade to an AP?

Thank you---my plan is to upgrade as soon as possible--would there be a reason not to do so? and do you know--you can upgrade to a Premiere at guest relations at the parks (but not the regular ticket booths) or in guest relations as Disney Springs?
