Upgrade some, not all, tickets from MYW package

I have read on different posts about buying a one day ticket with the MYW dining package and then upgrading some but not all of the tickets when you get there. Has anyone actually done this? I would think that Disney would NOT allow it since they require everyone in the package to buy the same tickets. By upgrading later aren't you now getting different tickets ...

Here is my situation
4 traveling
1 adult with AP
1 adult w/0 ap
1 child w/ap
1 child w/o ap
All on one reservation with one room
Adult and child without AP would like to upgrade ticket
Adult and child without AP do not need the extra tickets and definitely do not want to upgrade.

Can upgrade some of the tickets but not all?
Will the two tickets received for the AP people expire? - I have heard conflicting information on this. What is your authority?

Yes you are allowed to upgrade certain tickets. You would take the tickets that need upgrading to guest services and you would tell them that you want the cost of each pass credited toward a new pass. In my experience, they have done each pass separately, and only 1 pass can be credited to a new pass (you cannot use 2 passes to upgrade to 1 new pass).

The 1 day passes that are not used should not expire until they are used.
