Upgrade from Seasonal annual pass to preferred annual pass

I bought a seasonal annual pass from the Universal website for an upcoming trip but now I am thinking that it would have been a better move to purchase a preferred annual pass with flex pay. Does anyone know if I can upgrade the seasonal to a preferred with flex pay? Can it be done before the original annual pass is activated?
