Upgrade Email when booked thru TA?

I’m hearing of people getting an email offering an upgrade (for a fee), are my chances to receive one reduced if I’ve booked thru a travel agent?

Also, if I get one could I suggest a resort not listed?

I dont know if it makes it less likely, but I think the driver is more just based on how many reservations they have at a certain point of time at their Deluxe hotels. If they are not at good capacity they will send them out.

I got an upgrade offer 2 weeks ago. I had a room reservation and a separate tickets. I had Caribbean beach and it offered me Animal Kingdom for 50 more, Contemporary for 100 more, and Beach Club for 200 more. These were all about 50 dollars more off than the current 25 percent off offer they had running. So that would push animal kingdom to 350 a night, contemporary to about 395, and beach club 490 i think a night was the final offers?

When you get it, there will be an "upgrade your stay" option below your hotel reservation on the My Disney Experience thing. The options you get is going to be based on where they want to drive people to stay. They wont ask you where you want to upgrade to. I called and asked, and they said that particularly offer you had to do exactly what it offered you to get it, no playing around with it on their end.

I don’t use a travel agent so not positive what could happen. But my understanding has always been, the travel agent owns the reservation until you check in. So *maybe* the agent might get an offer on your behalf. If they did, they’d have to let you know & make the changes for you. I don’t think you would get it directly because you aren’t allowed to change anything. But I could be wrong.

If it makes you feel any better I've not gotten one and did not us a TA to book my stay next month. But in all honesty, I'd ask your TA if they've heard/seen anyone getting these. Have you received any direct communication from WDW about your stay when it was booked, etc? If you have then I would assume IF Disney was going to send this out, they'd know how to find you. And as others mentioned, you can't suggest the resort, Disney will provide you what they have available.

I would ask your TA if they’ve seen any come in and let them know if they do see any you would like to be informed.
