We have several laptops, and will never go back to desktops! (My desktop is a laptop that the screen went out on.)
If you decide to stick with a desktop, do you really need a wireless printer? I mean, if you go with only the desktop?
Keep in mind that a laptop can easily be used as a desktop with a USB/wireless keyboard and mouse. I have a wireless mouse for my main laptop and now hate using the touchpad, even though it works just fine.
Also, Windows 8 is a real pain in the neck! I think it would have been OK if it was partially worked into Windows 7, but it is completely new! Keep in mind that Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, etc...are all basically the same, so using the newer versions were not much different that using the older versions. Windows 8 is a radical departure from the norm. I have 8 on my main laptop, and although I am used to it, I am not sure that I see the benefits of it!
