Hi,

Does anyone know if you can change your WDW tickets that you purchase as part of a package deal at a travel agent. I have friends that are going to WDW in Jan as part of a package and they are going to come to WDW with us in March. Can they change their tickets in Jan to a Annual Pass?? or a 10-day no expiration. The travel agent says they can not upgrade their 5-day park hopper and I say they can at WDW Guest Relation??? Does anyone know???

Thanks a lot,
Debbie

It may be a dining package issue. I think they would be OK going w/the 10 day no expy upgrade, but not sure about AP upgrade.

Interesting question!

If it is a standard Magic Your Way pass, it can be traded up towards an AP after you receive it upon checking in at the resort. I'm not sure about the dollar value, I think you do get the full gate price as value if the pass is unused but you are short rated if the pass is used, for example deduct the value of a one day pass ($65.) if one day is used, deduct the value of a two day pass ($127.) if two days are used, etc.

Staying within the MYW format and adding extra days and features within 14 days of first use you pay the incremental prices posted at the ticket booths of what you add, for example $48. for water park fun, $9. for expiring day #5, $59. for non-expiration on a 7 day pass, etc.

SOme travel agencies may have "special" tickets that they throw in to their packages as opposed to selling you standard tickets. These special tickets are sent or given directly to you by the travel agent as opposed to printed at check in. They might not be upgradable.

We are going on a family trip for Christmas (22 days away!!), and we purchased 6 day park hoppers with our AAA package.
My wife and I are upgrading 2 of the tickets to 10 day no-expires when we get there at check-in, and plan to go back in May (sans kids). I call the resort and they gave me a price but I can't remember (the paper is at home in the vacation file), I think it was $118ish.
I think upgrades to AP's needed to be done at Guest Relations, but just adding days etc.., to your tickets can be done right at the hotel desk at check-in time.

Not nessisarily, They may also have tickets setup for you at Will Call, so they would still be printed at WDW / Check in.

Generally only specialty tickets such as convention tickets have upgrade restrictions on them, and are the only ones I can think of that would give you trouble.

If they are Magic Your Way tickets, even if they are discounted, you can upgrade them. The only way to tell for sure though is to talk to Guest Relations or your front desk when you arrive.
