I just checked my ressie online, and I see that I have been moved from 7620 on the Wonder (which is one of the secret Cat 7 rooms), to 7604. So this means that I got an upgrade from a Cat. 7 to a Cat. 5. My only problem with this is that it looks like 7604 is right outside the elevator area. Has anyone stayed in this room? Opinions? Should I keep this room, or call DCL and ask to be moved? My one problem is noise. Are the elevators noisy? Can you hear the noise from them when they are in use? I am also worried about noise from traffic near the elevators. Thanks in advance for advice!

We stayed in 5524, which was the first room from the elevator in May. To be honest, I didn't even know the elevator was there. You had to go down around a corner and down a short hall to get to the room from the elevator. I would imagine the other decks are layed out the same way.

I would keep the upgrade!

I think you're golden. Consider yourself lucky!

Thanks for the replies! I think I will keep it - but is there anyone out there that has had this cabin? You don't know how paranoid I am about noise.

I would not be worried about elevator noise. We have stayed in 8032 and 8532 which are directly out side the center elevators and never had a problem with a lot of noise from the elevators. Yes, occassionaly you would hear kids running in the halls but that will happen just about any where in the halls except the absolute front and back of the ship.

I am jumping, and it is not even me..I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for this to happen..

GOod for you guys, JUST DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

We stayed in a room right off the elevator and loved it. We didn't notice elevator noise, and I suspect those rooms are actually quieter than the hallways - the noise can disperse a little up the stairwell, where if you get a noisy family walking by your hallway room at 8:00am, you will hear them.

Welllll, I can say absolutely that depending on the number of Pied Piper 'tween boys on board, the aft stairwells are a magnet for noisy "secret" meetings and the stairwell outside the secret verandah on deck 7 aft often gets noise from hoards of kids as they troop around on their kids club activities. The aft, it seems, is the collection point for the noisy bored few and the noisy organized many....

We were just on the Wonder this April, and I can happily report I didn't witness any of the above. It was incredibly quiet the entire 4 days, and really enjoyed the secret verandah, it was a nice getaway in the mornings.

About the OP's concern, we are in 7620 for our next cruise. So is the only difference here the fact that 7620 has a slight obstruction on the verandah and the other room does not? Are there any other differences between these two rooms?

I had to pull out the deck plan to look, I didn't consider it next to the stairs...it is 5 cabins down. I never had any problem with the stars. We did have a few early rising kids screaming down the hall at 6:30 am, but found it to be an ideal location. Down 5 cabins and up two flights of stairs to the beverage station, Topsiders buffet, Pluto's, Pinnochios , Scoops....or down two flights for AP, three flights for PC and Lumieres.
We found it an ideal location, just down the hall from the laundry room, so we were able to sneak in a load of laundry when machines were available.

Hey Kacey, I'm from Long Island too :flower: Well I think you're pretty lucky too! We're going on the Wonder in a little over a month and we have cabins 7100 and 7102 which is almost right across the hall from your cabin. Since we booked this cruise only a few weeks ago and needed two adjoining rooms that was our only option available, but I'm not too worried because I'm so excited :cool1: Since we have 4 kids we had to get two rooms. Maybe I'll get lucky and bumped up to cat. 4 on deck 8 :rotfl: yeah rigghhhht!
