Hi! Has anyone been able to purchase an upgrade in their stateroom while at port...since the covid restrictions? Thanks!🙂

Ok...what does watching mean? Sorry...1🤔🤭

Instead of clicking the “Watch” button on the top of this thread some like to post a message like watching so that it automatically adds to the threads they follow and it bumps the thread so more people see it. Kebby is interested in hearing more about this topic so posted watching. :thumbsup2

Oh...got it!🤪😊

On our dream cruise last month, some guests were talking about trying to upgrade to concierge at the port. They stated they were told only platinum guests with 25 cruises were allowed to upgrade to concierge. No idea if this is true or not, but I found it interesting.

Unless the upgrade was free, this makes zero sense. Not suggesting what you heard isn’t correct, but money is money - who cares who it came from?

on our cruise on 9/11, we didn't even check in at the desks. When I asked about upgrading, they said I could talk to guest services on the boat, but they didn't think they were doing any. BTW, when I booked an 11B GTY, I did get assigned an 8C room.

This actually makes some sense. With the ships sailing at such limited capacity, many would know to book the lowest category assuming that many upgrades would be available…at their reduced rate.

I suspect cruisers with status would have priority over those with lower or no status.

I would think that around 1 hour or 30 minutes before sailing that rule could be seen past with no other taker’s from the 30+ platinum crowd. Kinda fair to get first crack at nice upgrade to those loyal to DCL.
Can people get on ship then charge once on board? Every time I wanted to check on an upgrade I would see a sign at guest services saying it was full sailing. So I’m wondering now if it could be done later.

This time we are 8B Gty in January since our August was canceled with 5 adults, 1 scooter, 1 wheelchair. Price was out of range for room with veranda on such short notice this time. I still hope for a bump several verandas are available yet.
