Upgrade 6-day to 7-day?

We just left the park and upgraded our 6 day tickets to 8 days! We first went to guest relations and they said they couldn't do it for some reason and sent us to the ticket windows but said they don't have more then a 6 day ticket so we would have to get annual passes. So we went to the ticket booth and after getting a manager over to override something we were able to add two additional days for 3 tickets for only 15 dollars! I was expecting to have to pay a big difference since we bought our tickets before the price increase but it only cost us 2.50 a day!

Unbelievable. I don't understand why they don't advertise the cheap upgrades. People would spend more days and $$ in the parks if they knew.

Yes, I was going to decrease our nights due to not being able to buy a 6-day Parkhopper. I am so glad to get all of this information. Disney really should advertise this capability for it's guests.

I think it's because there is no fingerprint scan capability at DLR like there is at WDW. They don't want people upgrading their 5 day passes to 8 day passes and then giving (or selling which is illegal) their unused days on their passes to friends, family, or strangers. Still, that's assuming the worst in people.

They need to have fingerprint scans on all multi-day passes. Cars Land changes everything. It makes the DLR more like WDW, attracting more and more long stay guests.

Ahhh, I see. I just want to have a nice, long Disney vacation. I guess I have never thought of all of those possible illegal options:eek: Now I can understand why Disney is so careful about the upgrading option. I am just glad to know that I can still spend 6-days in the parks which makes for a perfect mixture of crazy times and lazy afternoon pool/reading enjoyment.

Thanks for the info. Great news. Good to know they are still allowing this after Cars Land opening.

We have six day hoppers and I'm hoping to be able to upgrade them to 7s when we get there in just over a week. Is it best to use a day or two first?

I'll post with our experience doing so as soon as I can afterwards.... ;)

I want to know if it's cheaper to buy a 3 day hopper and add 2 days or just buy a 5 day hopper.

Everything I've read on the subject suggests they will charge you the full 5 day ticket price minus credit for whatever you paid for the 3 day or 4 day ticket you already purchased.

Yea, I figured the cheap add on days only apply beyond the 5 day pass mark.

So, we just got done with a total rebooking of our whole trip...and we still leave in 4 day! It has been one crazy night! We are no longer going to Las Vegas (which is disappointing), but we are staying at the Hilton Anaheim (a big upgrade imo from the Desert Inn) and we are going to Disney for an extra day!

However, my biggest concern is with the tickets right now. We purchased the 5 day PH tickets BEFORE the price increase online (so we got the $20 savings). Does anybody have any idea how much it will cost to add one more day? What is the best place to do it? Do you normally run into problems when trying to do this or do most CM's now how to handle this? Do we take our printed tickets from home to where ever we need to go, or do you still go into the park first (to get the "real" ticket) and then upgrade them later?

There does seem to be some inconsistencies of what different CMs have told guests, but I'm just going off of my experience on our June 3-10 trip, I will share with you what I would do. Honestly, I was a little nervous about how they would handle it, but it ended up being so simple for us. I will keep my fingers crossed that you have as good a luck as we did. I also bought ours before the price increase for $251/6-day hopper. We were able to pay an extra $5 to upgrade to 7-day hopper, so on the new ticket it showed $256. I know you are going from 5-6, so it may be a little more than $5, but I'm not sure. I would use your vouchers to enter a park first. They will give you a ticket to use for the remainder of your stay. I would go to Guest Relations in one of the parks and explain that you would like to extend your visit by a day. Hopefully, they will say sure (like our CM did), but if they say it is not possible, just politely ask them to check with their lead. Our gal did make 1 quick phone call to verify. She reissued us new tickets & hand stamped the dates we had already used (I didn't upgrade until day 4) and that was it. We were on our way. I believe you can upgrade any day, but if you ask the first day and they simply say it is not possible, that gives you more days to try again with another CM. Good luck....I already miss being there!

Hello Everyone,
FWIW, I just wanted to pass on the reply I received from Disneyland regarding my specific question about adding a day to a 5-day Parkhopper. This gives the "official" word on adding days from Disney.

"The DISNEYLAND® Resort Main Entrance ticket booths feature 1-Day/1-Park
tickets, 1-Day through 5-Day PARK HOPPER® tickets, Southern California
CityPass tickets, and Annual Passports. Disney Stores throughout the
country offer selected DISNEYLAND® Resort tickets, so please call your
local Disney Store for more information. Disneyland.com features
Multi-Day Tickets. Select Ticket options may be purchased by calling our
Ticketing & Reservations line at (714) 781-4400. Regrettably, there are
no available options in adding additional days to any tickets past a
5-Day Park Hopper Ticket.

Again, thank you for contacting us. Comments such as yours are welcomed
in that they assist us in evaluating our operation and our success in
generating happiness for our Guests. We hope you will have the
opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort soon and that our
attractions and entertainment will delight you in every way."

Well, from the sound of things, it seems like adding on this 6th day might be an issue unless we get lucky. I find it hard to believe that Disney has its guests jump through hoops to stay longer!

They really need to offer up to 7 day park hoppers. With the price of AP's being SOO high for people out of state, we are basically forced to only visit for 5 days since the cost of an AP basically doubles the cost of the 5 day park hopper.

Going to try our luck everyday to add one more day to our tickets. Hopefully we get a CM that knows how to do it on the first day so we don't have to keep dealing with it.

This is exactly what I have been told on the phone (when I bought my tickets 5/19/12) yet there are still confirmed purchases of 7th day purchases here on the Dis since then. I have seven of us with 6 day PH purchased prior to increase. I too am wanting day 7 (and 8!) while I am there. Heading down 7/31-8/7 and will post my experience in adding days then sucessful or not.
Here's to lots of pixie dust for all of us just wanting more magical time!!!pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

This seems to be what they tell people when they call or e-mail. However, this is not what happens once you are there. It is strange, I must say, but, for those of you that want to add a day, I feel you will be able to. Of course, I can't promise, but from my experience and what others here have said, they are still adding days once you are there.

Thanks, jaydanicole, for sharing your recent experience with this! I just wanna add on our travel days for some 1/2 day fun and am confident we will be able to!
Can always lounge at the pool or hang in DTD instead if we have too but would rather chill in DL or CA!!!
