Upgrade 6-day to 7-day?

We went to the ticket booth to pick up our park hopper passes (we bought through getawaytoday.com but had to pick up our passes at the ticket booth). We asked to upgrade at that point but we were told to start using our park passes & to upgrade later on in the week after we started using our park passes (not sure why we just couldn't upgrade then). On day 6, we went again to the ticket booth and were able to upgrade for just the $5/person.

Thanks. We'll probably check first too and if needed go back later on day one or first thing on day two. I'm looking for schedule flexibility so waiting until day six is not going to work.

That sounds awfully familiar to the WDW ticket upgrading method.

That would scare me. If I can upgrade for $5/ticket then we will go to the parks the day we arrive for a few hours. I am not sure I want to wait til our last day to find out those few hours actually cost me about $50/ticket. Our last park day will be a full day.

I guess I'll check the first day and have to trust them. And hopefully get more first hand reports here before we go in August.

Just reporting back....I too purchased the 6-day park hoppers before the price increase for $251/each. When the CM checked on the computer for the 7-day hopper, it came up as $256, which she said was an amazing deal! I quickly said "PERFECT"....upgrade both for $10. :thumbsup2Daughter & I had a fabulous time in the parks ALL 7 days of our trip. We went in the morning....rested and/or swam in the afternoon....then back to the parks to close them down. Just got back today and are both VERY tired!!! Ahhh...so many memories made! :)

I have not been to DL yet but I thought you would have to pay gate price for the upgrade and only get what you paid as credit.

If a 5 day park hopper gate price is $290 and it is $5/day to upgrade wouldn't that make the gate price of a 7 day hopper $300?

I purchased 6 day hoppers before the price went up for $251. Wouldn't I have to pay $49 to upgrade to 7 day hoppers?

Would be very interested to hear if OP is able to upgrade for just the $5/day as I have an August trip planned and would really prefer the 7 day tickets.

Thanks for your report!

Were you able to do the upgrade on day 1?

Did you buy your 6 day tickets from Disney?

I did buy the tickets from Disney and we upgraded on our 4th day, but I really think you can upgrade on any day. She just reissued the tickets and then punched the dates on each ticket that we had already used. I did notice when we used the new ticket the first time, the CM at the turnstile asked for id since the computer read it as the 1st day being used, but no issues getting in. The rest of the trip, some CM's would comment on the days punched on there, some did not, but it was never an issue of getting in. I did get asked to show my id 3 different times, but we went in and out of the parks around 30+ times in our week there. Enjoy....it was soooo much fun to take it at our own pace and not worry if an attraction was down or if we were going to get it all in.

I wish it had been this easy for us, we attempted to upgrade numerous times at various locations during our January trip and no one was able to help us.

Did you upgrade them at a ticket booth or at another location?

Hello, We have always purchased a 6 day Parkhopper for our yearly trips. Now that these are not available I am really hoping we can buy a 5 day Parkhopper and add day/upgrade to that ticket. Does anyone know if this is feasible? I cannot get a straight answer from Disney via email. I really would hate to pay another $375.00 for the three in my family to spend one more day at the parks. Also, I am not interested in an Annual Pass:).

I would order the 5 day passes and then go to customer service and ask to upgrade to 6 day passes. I'm not sure how much that will be. It was $5/ticket going from 6-7, so it may be a tad higher, but for sure wouldn't be the cost of a 1 day ticket. The gal we talked to was very willing to accommodate our request. They obviously want our money, so I don't think it will be an issue. My only other suggestion is that if you do get a CM that says it isn't possible, ask them to double check by calling their lead or simply stop and ask another CM at guest services. I was thrilled that in 5-min & only $10 later we had upgraded our tickets. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your reply. Great news!! Disney basically told me that 6 day hoppers were no longer available, so I could just buy Annual Pass instead. I am so glad I read these Boards. One more question, where is customer service? Thank you in advance :confused3.

OK....I think it might be called "Guest Relations".....I believe at DL it is in the City Hall....we went to the one in CA and we ended up walking right by it when we walked in, but that was when the walls were still up because Carsland was not open.....they are also shown on the maps and of course, ask any CM & they will be able to point you in the right direction. Have fun!

You'd actually go to Guest Services. It is located to the left of the Disneyland Park entrance. :)

Thank you so much for answering my questions, I was so worried about the extra money. Thank you!!!:goodvibes

We just left the park and upgraded our 6 day tickets to 8 days! We first went to guest relations and they said they couldn't do it for some reason and sent us to the ticket windows but said they don't have more then a 6 day ticket so we would have to get annual passes. So we went to the ticket booth and after getting a manager over to override something we were able to add two additional days for 3 tickets for only 15 dollars! I was expecting to have to pay a big difference since we bought our tickets before the price increase but it only cost us 2.50 a day!
