Upgradable Magic Bands

We ordered our upgraded Magic Bands last Thursday and received them today for our August 4th trip. They were all correct so we are good to go.

Well...last day for me to customize my magicbands. Guess we'll be getting the solid colors I had initially chosen before they offered upgradable options. I just kept hoping there would be 4 that my family wants available at the same time...oh well...I will sadly keep checking on/off the rest of today...

The upgrade option shouldn't be available until 60 days out--same as fast passes, then people with trips coming up might actually get the bands they actually want.

I absolutely agree with you on the timing of the bands. The bands should have been limited to the same as FP timing. Seems fair?? Much more fair than what has happened. We've not gotten to customize either and our window closes in 3 days.

I didn’t get an error message but there was Jack Skellington band available.

Now I can’t even see the review/edit order button when I go to My Magic Bands on the website. Maybe they are updating stock? We don’t arrive until Aug 1, so we should still be able to make selections, but cannot even get to the solid ones now.

Sorry, I don't. I have never tried to edit an upgraded order.

I thought I was the only one. I have my bands and been trying to process this order. I finally got the ones I want and I am trying to pay for them but nope not working.

Yep, same old crap, they are disappearing quickly. I'm was so close to getting five for our family but can't finish, now down to three and I'm sure those will disappear soon enough. Pretty frustrating indeed.

Same here. 41 were available when I logged on and before I could add even two of our four, they were disappearing. This has to be one of Disney's bigger screw-ups. Great idea....horrible execution. For the life of me, I can't figure out how they didn't expect this to be a huge thing for people.

I guess a big demand. I'm sure this isn't true but I always get the feeling I'm competing against some schemers that are selling them on ebay or something, ha ha. But in reality, there are A LOT of folks who go to Disney and to be honest, I had never considered upgrading a magic band before, never even priced it out. But now since they are offering a "discount" the whole family wants one.
They might have been looking at previous upgraded magic band sales on shop Disney or something? But yeah, very big disappointment.

RIGHT?!? We've always just done the solid colors because I wasn't paying $25 or more for a cute MB when we could get one that works just fine for free. Our upcoming trip is a surprise for our kids and for $10, a cool MB was going to be a great "guess where you're going tomorrow" gift. It has been nothing but frustration since they "released" them. I have 22 days left and I guess I'll see if there's any truth to the July 4th restocking rumor. Grrrrrrr.

Same....I'm trying to get the same Stitch one for my 12 yo. I could care less for the other 4 of us adults but thought it would be so fun for her to have a customized one. We are going 8/17 so I have a little bit of time left (11 more days) but as soon as I see it I grab it but it will never let me process the order. It is gone before I can finish! It is not even like I'm trying to get the other 4 :-( Bummer!!

On another thread I read someone claimed that this was happening and Disney was in turn charging full price to their account once the reservation was cancelled. I have no idea if this is true but reminds me of the similar fast pass fiasco. Disney soon caught on and cancelled people's fast pass selections as soon as they cancelled their resort reservation.
In another note, I had gotten 3 out of our five into our cart and my daughter walked up, (she was always reminding me to check, awwww) and I showed her how her favorite pineapple swirl wouldn't load. She quietly told me she would be happy to choose another one, and picked Arial and walla, our order FINALLY went through, so cute of her.
Now though I'm worried if they'll get here in time. We are doing a split stay, checking into the Contemporary on the 10th (Yes, next week), and then the Yacht club (this is where we got the 2nd order of magic bands from) on the 13th. So Disney might be thinking as long as they get here by the 12th or something? That would be the icing in the cake, ha ha, to miss getting them all together after paying $50
