We are returning via Atlanta and have economy flights booked. For £52 each we can upgrade to economy comfort, for which we get 4" extra legroom, 50% extra recline, free drinks & priority check in. Just wondered if anyone has done this & if it's worth it. We are getting picked up at Manchester, so Norman could indulge in the free beer.

omg yes...I am with the PP and just grab them now before they go. Sounds like a good deal to me, an extra 4 inches, bargin:rotfl:

OP---DO IT!!!!! DH and I flew in regular economy in May CVG-CDG and, upon landing, as soon as I could fire up my IPad I logged onto the airline website (Delta) and upgraded our return flight seats to the economy comfort and, while I was at it, made changes for another transcontinental trip next month:thumbsup2 Best money I ever spent since I'm too cheap to pay for business or first class:goodvibes

We have upgraded coming home on the 11th August. Upgrade cost more than the flights:rotfl2:
We paid £3.20 each for TPA~ATL~MAN plus 60,000 airmiles, then because we are Platinum Medallion members we could upgrade at a discounted rate of £38. Total cost £41.20.
Not expecting anything fantasic but for £38 I thought we could try it.
I will try remember to post some pics when we get home.

Ah, now I'm even more undecided as I didn't expect so many of you to say go for it. As I typed the message, I was thinking it's probably not worth it. Norman then came through & said the same. Thanks for your thoughts.

My brother loves economy comfort!! He decided to try it on his flight home last year, just after they had introduced it and thought it was so good that he has booked it both ways for his current trip. And my brother doesn't usually spend anymore than he has to!! ;)

Thanks, DH calls me the tight one (i'm from Yorkshire) & he's usually the one that just books things but in this case he's thinking it's not worth it. I will have to make my mind up soon as they don't have many seats left & we need 3 together. Wish we could get them on the way there as it's such a long journey (3 planes) but is on an Air France plane.

We are thinking about this but just so you know beer and wine are free in economy also.

DD and DSIL just flew economy comfort on thursday - from newark to minneapolis and then from minneapolis to fairbanks alaska...
they said it was very very very worth it for them...

they said the extra room was great and the priority boarding was great..

they said that on the newark-minneapolis flight, the last people to board had to surrender their carry on luggage as there was no room...but DD and DSIL were the first on board right after first class....that alone was worth it to them...but they also had much more leg room...

Really is that a recent thing as we travelled with Airfrance on Delta in 2009 & it was just non alcohol drinks.
Thanks for the advice, everyone.
