Updating Rentals for lower rates, how to do it?

I belong to Emerald Club and when I checked, the rates went down. Do I make the new reservation, and then cancell the old one? Or just modify the old one.

What I think most of us do with National is go ahead and make the new ressie online, then go back and cancel the old one - make sure you have your OLD ressie number when you cancel. I have never had a problem doing it this way.
