Updating existing reservations to free dining?

IF a promotion comes out for free dining for the time of my vacation, even though I booked while the promotion had not started, will my reservation be able to include the promotion rate?

Can't blame me for dreaming a little, but I hope it is so!

You would have to contact Disney, or your travel agent if you used one. They won't automatically switch you to a free dining promotion.

You will have to contact Disney if you booked directly with them. There are some travel agencies that specialize in Disney trips that will automatically upgrade your reservation if you tell them to. Be aware though that there are always a limited number of rooms for any given free dining promotion. You can get your reservation upgraded if there is availability at your resort. You may have to switch resorts or room categories to qualify. Remember to call early.

Cool; thanks! I'm on military discount, so I did book with Disney. I don't know if that changes anything.

Disney won't let you stack discounts so if free dining or another promo comes out, you will have to do the math to see which will be better for you.

This is exactly what I did. The morning Free Dining came out I called in and the cust rep took care of everything for me. Super easy
