Updated: Ticket Prices increasing Tomorrow (CONFIRMED)

Has anything been announced today regarding the Diamond Celebration or ticket prices?

The Diamond Celebration announcement for AP holders and the live blogging by the Parks Blog won't start until 8:00 pm tonight.

There has not been any announcements about ticket price increases today. In truth, I highly doubt they'll announce anything about that at today's 60th anniversary announcement. Given that the rumors indicate a price increase in mid-February, I doubt we'll hear anything official until the day or so before it happens.

Oops- sorry about stepping on figment_jii 's toes- didn't see the last page of posts on my phone & can't delete previous post on mobile :(

No worries! It happens all the time when folks are posting at the same time. :)

Any updates on this, especially now that the 60th announcement is over?
Nope...the latest rumor is that the price increase will happen in mid-February. If that is the case, then Disney won't announce anything until the day before or thereabout.

I went into a different Disney store this past weekend, and they were sold out of adult tickets. I asked if they were going to get any more in, and they said that they were unable to order until the next price increase, but to check back in the next two weeks.

Get Away Today sent me an email today for 5-day tix 4 the price of 4...but the deal expires February 8th. That's not a lot of time.
Between that and dtnrhi's post above mine at the Disney Stores, I'm inclined to think this is going to happen before the end of the month...

I received same email. I didn't notice it expired Feb 8 but bought my tickets anyway, but my daughter's bf needs to buy his. I will let him know. Thanks for info!

Getaway today also has the layaway so you can have time to pay the tickets off at the old price not new. I am going to get mine for the Dec trip saved this week.

If I bought tickets now via Getaway Today and then for some reason ended up unable to go, can I sell/transfer them?

Hmmm. I was looking at getting a premier passport for our big trip later this year to WDW and DLR. But I think there's no way to buy this particular AP online? I would have to look into ordering a WDW AP to "lock in" the rate, and then get it upgraded to a PP and take my chances with the prices when we actually go in October?

Anyone know how this might work for me?

You can buy $20.00 piece of mind insurance from GAT. Then if you need to cancel, change your plans, etc., you can get your money back. That's what I do, especially with buying tickets so far in advance. Oh, and it's $20.00 for the whole transaction, not per ticket. They even told me if I see a better ticket offer that they can verify between now and our trip to call them and they would match the price and refund me the difference!

If I buy tickets before the increase, they're still good for an October visit, correct? My TA is concerned about me purchasing from Cheaptickets/Orbitz as she was talking to Alaska Vacations about the 5 for 4PH that I'm going to get. They seem to think that those aren't valid tickets, but they are, correct? I can get those tickets from online and still use them in October and they're validated at check-in at PPH? I want to get the best deal I can for them, but not if I'm wasting $1400+ on them.

Yes the 5 for price of 4 are valid. Get away today also sells them. I am not sure if orbitz cheaptickets is better price then getaway today but you can check.

cheaptickets with the 6.88% cash back from Ebates would still be cheaper than getawaytoday for up to a 5-day hopper.

does the price increase include non-APs, though?

I don't think anyone knows for sure what the price increases will be this year, but usually the price increases have covered all types and all levels of tickets (except the Premier AP because that increase has to be coordinated with WDW).

We've been holding out to see if Ebates does a bigger percentage cash back on activities. Cheaptickets is currently offering 6.88% back. Pretty good deal, but if Ebates does 10% or 20% like they did last year this month, it'd be worth the wait. We leave for our trip on 2/20, so I've just been holding out until the last minute to see. Of course, if a price increase hits before then, it'd be for not. I wonder if I should just get the tix through Cheaptickets instead of being greedy for the extra percent cashback. Ugh...what to do?
