Updated Rules at WDW

Ohh, you're right! I missed that bit! I guess it depends on what 'trailer-like' means? I think of trailer-like being something with four wheels, flat on the ground, being pulled by a rope or long handle (like a wagon). Rolling coolers are pulled more upright, like a rolling suitcase - right?
Yes, they are more like rolling suitcases which is probably why they are often let through.

That has always been so.

The costume stuff, probably. Like no masks for 14+. (I swear it used to be no masks at all, but...) The searching stuff.
Good point. Nothing that hasn't been announced piecemeal like, right?
Though the costume stuff has always been there, right? Just loosely enforced

I wonder what they're going to do with women wearing Burkhas. I see some every trip and it says that adults can only cover their faces for medical reasons - not religious.

I saw women in full burkas last week, after the new security measures started. I say no way are they going to prohibit them from entering. That would be a PR nightmare for them

I was fine until I got to #1 under "Company Rights".

Each time we stumbled across a filming or photo shoot, they had us sign release forms.

now lets see how many of these they will actually enforce.
Just last week I was almost whacked in the head by a selfie stick, had to walk carefully around 4 families with rolling coolers, had to actually tell a group of 4 to go smoke in the smoking location (they were right next to Sleepy Hollow), saw a girl in her 20s in full Jasmine costume and saw more than one person walking around without shoes

That's probably the same Jasmine I saw at Epcot in line for the Candlelight Processional.

I was wondering what exactly is new?
Haven't most all of these been there since the Selfie Stick ban was added in the summer
Enforcement has always been a grey area for many of them, like rolling coolers, right?
Which we did see last week, after the new security checks were started. So they are still letting them enter

New would be no toy guns, including those bubble guns. And the costume rule is new assuming it will affect MNSSHP.

Religious and cultural garb is explicitly permitted as per CM training materials.

Didn't Disney just lose a lawsuit with a Sikh CM who was wanting to wear his turban? They might have to allow it for CMs at least after that. Guests are a different story though. However, I personally believe they should allow it.

Rule 5...no smoking. I've seen a few of the e-cigs & vaping in lines & such. I wondered how that would be addressed.

Burqas are not costumes, and if Disney refused entry to women in burqas they might be open to a charge of religious discrimination.

And the total banning of toy guns is new (including toy blasters and bubble guns)

Rolling coolers or suitcases that are pulled behind are an issue. The person pulling it can't see where the suitcase or cooler is going because it's behind them. I have seen people almost get tripped because a pulled item is in their way and they can't see it.

My understanding is that they are OK within the size limits if they are being pushed because they are within sight of the person pushing it
Probably 90% of them that I have seen did not meet the size requirement and were being pulled.

they don't refuse en try to anyone wearing something for religious reasons, they also allow them to worship anywhere in the parks and on property.

I like this "know before you go" email. I've never heard of it or received it. Is this new? I think everyone should get it.

I received a different one for each reservation I had during SWW last year. This is our first stay since then and received one. There's other info in it about photopass, Park hours and EMH, Mickey Check Meals, and tweets.

O.K., this is dumb, but does this mean that adults cannot wear costume during the trick-or-treating (designated times) any longer? This may change my mind about going during Halloween next year! :)

I just went back to recheck my recent Disney emails since we just returned from a trip. I did receive info. about Mickey Check Meals, Photopass, etc.... as well, but there was nothing about rules.

as of what is being reported right now, the "no costumes for 14 and older" rule DOES apply to the Halloween parties. Will it stay that way, we don't know.

Makes sense. I can't imagine wanting to push OR pull anything through the parks, :)

At this point it looks like no costumes for guests over 14 years even for MNSSHP.

Probably because the rule change is very recent.

Really? That bums me out, but with this change, I wonder how that will affect attendance during that time? Maybe I will still go because I bet it will be a lighter crowd than in the past! ;)
