UPDATED: New Discount Being Released 12-21

My family is going for 10 days starting on January 1. This package deal is valid beginning January 3. If we do a split reservation (The first for Jan 1/2 and the 2nd for Jan 3 - 10 under the gift card package deal), does anybody know if we can start using the tickets from the package deal on Jan 1/2 or would we have to buy separate tickets for the days that precede the package? Thanks for the help!

ok, just looked at my emails, and there is a difference in the coding in the email now. i don't have a clue what it means, but thought someone else might.

They are different codes... the first code MWB and TNK do not include quick service dining... which I imagine the OL adds..

Tickets start when you first check in and are good until midnight of the day you check out.

Make sure you figure out the costs of the extra tickets when you are figuring in the discounts... Single and 2 day tickets are expensive... you save $ the longer you stay...

Also.. check... there are also room only discounts you may be able to get for the extra night to help defray the costs...

Yup... you're not officially there on the package until the day it starts...

You might want to see if they are having any specials (google mousesavers)
and try to get a room only ressie and then get your tickets separately.

Price it all out... see which is better... are you doing the food plan? That's usually only on package rates or if you are DVC or Annual pass members.

It may add considderable cost to your vacation if you have to buy individual tickets for just the 2 days...

thurowb.....so you are talking 2 nights, which is really only one day. we never go to a park check in day, we enjoy the resort pool while we wait for our room, then have dinner at the resort restaurant (if it's a mod). maybe the next day you could go to a water park, or downtown disney (you CAN use your planet hollywood voucher ahead of time, it comes in the mail, we have done this. you could mini golf. the very next morning, check in with the package(if you are a late nighter, maybe you could do this at midnight?
this way you are not buying the first 2 (expensive )park days twice. we actually like non-park days.


also, if you want to stay at the sam3e resort, have them make a note of it at the first check-in, so maybe you can keep the same room.


for all you people with the 4/3 discount. that is better. this GC discount was not meant to add on to that.

last year, they extended the 4/3. that is what we were hoping for. this year, they did the GC offer instead
of extending the 4/3. be very happy you got the 4/3 for the time you are going and don't waste your time trying to figure out which is best. the GC is less of a discount. Iger said they would be cutting back on the discounts in 2010 (although hubby pointed out that his quote said at the later half of 2010).

It's not a matter of just adding a gift card to your package, as you have a different package. Looks like you went from package MWB to TNK. But to you they must be the same, except the gift card. That's good the process was so seamless.

Quick question. If I book a 7 day at mod or delux with base tickets, can I use the gift cards to upgrade to hopper w/water parks and more when I arrive to save about $400?

Not sure yet... we ususally don't know what limitations if any there will be until the offer starts to kick in.

When they did the gift cards for your birthday there were certain things you could and couldn't use it on...

On the other hand...it could be a straight GC and you can use it on anything... we won't know yet...

Tickets are good until midnight of the day you check out.

Tickets expire 14 days after first use if you don't purchase the non expire option-they are not tied to your check out date.

I would be surprised if the gift cards could not be used towards upgrading passes. My DH just used his Disney b-day gift card to renew his AP. (And he got his gift card several weeks ago.)

The confirmation doesn't show the gift card anywhere I just got a short printout that says POLYNESIAN- OWS / MAGIC YOUR WAY DINE. Is that correct - twice I tried to call and they say they are looking into it - I get put on hold no one comes back then I get the survey and NOTHING else.

Call back and ask to talk to a manager and then have them take your name and number just in case you get cut off...

no. The dining plan has to be on your package prior to arrival, you can't add it on when you arrive.

This cannot be done, as a dining plan has to be added to a travel package 3 days/72 hours prior to arrival. And it would have to be paid prior to arrival also.
You could use the gift card towards food once there. But not to add in a dining plan at check in and pay for it.
