Yes, Virginia, there is a new discount coming out on December 21. It exists as certainly as Buzz and Woody and Belle exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no discounts! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no Splash Mountain, no Tower of Terror to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in discounts! You might as well not believe in fairies!

Travel Dates: January 3 – June 3, 2010

Walt Disney World has released a special Magic Your Way package deal for the travel dates listed above, where you can receive up to a $750 Disney Gift Card for free with your stay. There are a few requirements:

A minimum 5 night stay

A minimum 5 day Magic Your Way park pass

You must stay at a Disney World resort (Swan, Dolphin and Downtown Disney area resorts do not qualify)

Availability is extremely limited, especially during January and February. Blackout dates include March 27 – April 11, 2010. You may not check in during the black out dates. You can check in March 26 or before and extend into the black out period and still qualify. You can also check in June 3 and qualify for the free gift card.

You will receive the gift card at check in, it cannot be used to pay for part of your package. You must pay your package in full 45 days before travel. The gift card can be used anywhere in the Walt Disney World resort theme parks and resorts that accept credit cards, including restaurants, gift shops and to pay for your charges against your room. My soon to be DH and I are going for our Honeymoon Jan. 17th-25th and staying at the CR. We booked it with no discounts, if they release this offer on the 21st would we be able to call and get the giftcard? It would be SO wonderful to not have to worry about spending money for our trip.

I'm a little slow this morning - does this mean that the only discount is the gift card, or that there will be some percentage discount PLUS the gift card? And will this be the type of gift card that's only good for merchandise, or will it be good for food too?
