I promised to post a picture of the completed wall I put up in the back yard so here it is:

We also had a flagpole in the front yard that DW wanted a planter around. I decided to add a few bumps (strategically placed) and here's what we got. (I think it turned out great)

I also ran electrical to it, so it will have some sort of ground lighting. I will post a pic of that when it's finished too. :):)

That is sooooo great!!!
I'm jealous!!!!!! :teeth:

Did you do the Mickey free hand or did you trace it out first with something??
Great job!!!

Nice Wall!!! GREAT Planter!!!

You do Wonderful work, Jeff! ;) :earsboy:

That looks awesome Jeff!! Love the "hidden" Mickey. ;) Is Gael willing to loan you out??

Beautiful! I'm considering putting up mini walls using reddish stone. I love the Mickey wall around the flag pole, maybe our trees need walls too! How did you do it?

Great Mickey planter bed, Jeff! I'll have to remember that when I do my rock garden!

That came out great.
It is a lot of work making it level and building it 'just right'. And Just Right you did. Nice Mickey!

Great job!!!

I actually used a string tied to the flag pole to make a big circle in spray paint for the head. Then I used the same string and marked spots out for the centers of the ears.

I pounded a pole into the center of the ears and then used the string again to make a circle for the ears.

It was pretty easy to lay out, actually.

The hard parts:

Digging all the grass out - it took Gael and I the better part of a day to do.
Making sure it was level. It takes some talent, but I'm getting really good at it now. :)
Filling it with dirt. That's ALOT of dirt - almost 40 cubic feet of dirt.

Nice job Jeff!!!!!! Gee - I could have had you come down and help my dad and I with the one I did.....it is hard work isn't it!!!! I LOVE the Mickey around the flag pole!!!!!!

In case anyone is interested I have pics of mine posted over on the Flower and Garden board but here's the link....

I'm happy with the turnout but I think I'll be happier once things start blooming!!! I really like that wall near the garage Jeff....nice job!

I love the Mickey boarder around the flag pole. I have to show DH your pic. I want one too.

I want one too!!!! I'll have to show DH this pic tonight! Hes on vacation next week and our plans are landscaping!

AWESOME!!! You are very talented. AND you can sew!!

:p Ok how many of us wives are going to copy and either save or print the pic of the ºoº around the flagpole for our DHs to put on the "Honey do" list?

It took us about 2 days to get it all put together.

Since it was a larger area, the next time I'd rent one of the those machines that rip up sod. It would have been the best $50 I ever spent.

I think we spent about $250 on it. I haven't figured the final total yet. I think it was a good deal. I keep hearing people walk by saying "hey, its Mickey Mouse!". Why yes, it is!
