Updated May Hours

There isn't any changes to the AM hours when we are there from 5/7-5/15 so that's good..that's all the EMH we will use anyway.

Were you just referring to EMH hours or all hours? I ask b/c we're there from 5/11-5/15 and they did add regular hours. Saturday's 5/14 hours at MK changed from 9am-11pm to 8am-1am. They also added an hour on 5/13 to close at 10 pm. AK on Saturday is also now open until 8 pm when it was previously listed as closing at 6 pm. But if you were referring to them adding more EMH or changing the opening/closing on EMH, then that appears to be true so far. Fingers crossed, b/c I reallllly don't want to hit rope drop that early ;)

I was only looking at Early Extra Magic Hours and AM park openings...with two little ones we don't stay out past 7pm..lol..but we make use of the 8am rope drops!! Sorry for not clarifying!!

Ok the travel agent calander and another say 8-7 at mk for grad nights and the disney site that is supposed to be updated does not. The disney site updated the extra fantasmics and emh's but not for those days. I booked onsite just to be able to use the MK emh's those days and don't know what to think

Stay tuned.

There are still weeks before the actual dates arrive.

Robo- what do you think? Travel agent calender and touring plans say 8 and disney says 9. Could i call disney and find out? You seem to be thinking the 2 calenders are right? I hope so. It seems like the logical thing for disney to do since it does close at 7 that night.

I will be there also! Maybe someone should give WDW some sort of warning.

Nah. So long as we leave the tornados home.........

(I know; with the recent severe weather, especially in the Southeast, it's not as funny any more. But it is still the stereotype people have of us).

I just hope people don't look at me weird when I pull out my ruby slippers to go home. :rotfl2:

Could i call disney and find out?

That rarely gets good results, I'm afraid.

Just give it some time.
The calendars tend to rectify eventually.

Looks like I'm going to have to put the new hours into our itinerary binder. We will be there May 13th - May 21st. I'm not too worried about crowds. We went in May 2008 from the 16th to the 25th and I don't remember the crowds being bad. In fact they were about the same as when we went in December 2009. I don't expect them to be bad while we are there. We honeymooned in August 2003 and the crowds were HEAVY (still had a blast though).

Of the 3 times we've gone May is my favorite. The temps are good, but the humidity is not outrageous yet. I have to say while I enjoyed Christmas time at the world in 2009 the temps left me wanting. We were told by a lot of locals that it was an off year and usually it was much nicer.

Anyway, I don't think the crowds will be horrible while we are there. Average maybe...

We had planned to take it a little easier this time, but the commando in me is seeing these new hours and I'm wondering how much more we can cram in. Good thing is we usually hit rope drop and go hard for 2 hours, once the park starts to fill up we go to lunch and then back to the resort and relax. We head back to the parks in the late afternoon. In our experience you can get alot done if you get to rope drop!

So with the extended hours, do you think it IS because of expected large crowds? So many people were getting PINS's to go in May and don't they ususally send out the PIN's when the occupancy is low? I will be there from May 5-15th and planned on that due to low crowds originally. What are your thoughts?

Thankfully still no Fantasmic on our DHS day. That's about the only thing that would have forced rescheduling things for me.

Not sure if this is a crowd indicator, but I am a DVC member and we had to book our trip last minute - 3 months out. There was nothing available studio wise for the 12 days we wanted to stay except for Saratoga Springs. We even looked at split stay but only onesy twosey nights here and there at other DVC resorts....
