Point taken. If you are 20 or 30 and you have 50 years to enjoy your membership........but if you older, like we are, you may need to enjoy those points "right now!!". Besides, how many 20/30 year olds are going to be able to afford to buy this resort at this premium price? I'll bet the average VGF buyer is 45 or older.
It appears that April UY is the earliest they are selling right now and the resort still doesn't exist to occupy. Not a huge difference between February and April.
Don't sweat it. I'm glad you didn't change the poll, though. It's because people have to always point out how dumb they think someone else is for spending money on something they think is a waste.
No, not flawed. It's for the people who are. It's really simple. If you're not buying any, there was really no need for any of you to respond. But thanks for your input.
I don't know, but when I find out, I'm sending them all to you, cause I know how much you love them.
so let me get this right your going to spend 4350 on 30 points plus fees. to spend 3 nights every three years on the GF when you get just rent a room for 400 to 500 every three years and most of the time you will get a discount on 25 to 30% by your case you wont spend the 4300 in the next 9 or so years on just renting a room at 400 a night......you are just drunk on the idea of owning GF....i get it i looked into it also but you can buy 30 points at BWV at 120ish a point and get 8 nights every 3 years
Someone, I can't remember who, explained why this is, in another thread. It's because that's when the actual douments were signed, or the resort was declared (??) as of April 1st. Which is 6 months before the opening. And they said that the other resorts that have opened, have followed suit.
Anyway, I can understand the age argument. But, timeshares can be passed onto children/grandchildren. My parents just bought with us in 2011 and they're turning 69 this year. They figured they'd just enjoy what they can while they can and then pass the usage onto us and their grandchildren.
How very nice of your parents! We have 300 points at BCV and we will leave it to our son and any grandchildren he may have. But he has to find a wife first!
...I don't know, but when I find out, I'm sending them all to you, cause I know how much you love them.
Yes! I can't thank them enough for buying with us. It definitely helps lighten the load. I'm happy I can purchase these VGF points. My mother loves that resort. She can't wait to stay there.
But did the OP say it was about establishing the interest in VGF or simply how many points you would buy (for those who are)?
To me it is quite obvious that the majority of people who own DVC will not add on and I am more interested in how many points those who are purchasing, are going for. Which is what I believe the OP's objective was in the first place. That does not make it a skewed poll. It makes it what it is!
Her other option is buying BWV for about $75 per point resale. That is really the way to go in this economy.
And DW just saw the pictures of VGF and was blown away. She loves BCV but this is a totally different and elegant atmosphere. She just never liked the snobs we ran into at GF but I pointed out that the DVC members adding on stay at BWV, BCV, etc... so they are not any different than the friendly people we run into now. But if it were not for colleges expenses we are facing, at $145 per point, I will wait till resale.

I just showed my wife the threads of photos of the VGF models.
She wants me to call Maribella (our guide) tomorrow and do an add on.
Let's see where this heads...
