*UPDATED*greenban EXCLUSIVE: FINAL AKL UPDATE

jdg345, Greenban,

Did you guys pay in full or finance. Mine still hasn't showed up yet. :confused3 I
I am getting a little worried becaue of the on 35k points being available. There were quite a few people interested.
I paid in full for the points putting them on my Disney Visa. I'm not sure that matters though.

Well, Tony, I talked to our guide, and while I was originally thinking of 55 points, he made good sense talking about the 100 point incentives. Did you get the incentives with multiple 50 point contracts?
I'm not Tony, but the answer is Yes!! I bought in earlier today -- two 50-point contracts at the $93/point incentive price.

I hope we'll be welcoming you home to AKV, Diane!! This is BIG news: the Queen of OKW buying a second home at AKV!

Congrats !!
Should I be worried because my contract doesn't show up and my credit card still doesn't have any charges pending ? My guide was supposed to enter the contract @ 8:00am but I have not heard anything from him confirming the transaction.:confused3

My points are there. If you are wondering, we are financing, used cc to put down payment, and have not signed anything yet. Points are there, but for home resort, it says "null". :scratchin

Actually, I didn't tell them one way or another ... they do have my CC on file, so I'm guessing they just put down the minimum to get things started?

I bought today (at the preview center) at about 4pm, and my points already show up in my account, except the resort name is listed as 'null'.

FWIW, the point chart they gave me matches what greenban has posted, except for the 2-br standard. What they gave me for 2-br standard is:

23/49, 25/51, 27/57, 31/64, 41/85

ETA: I take that back. Several numbers throughout the point chart I have are different, but only by a point or 2 here and there.

Did anyone calling today get anymore details about view locations, or floor plans?

Hi Tony,

Congrats on your new home and being a founding member and being able to use those 9 points left. I am still thinking about buying in maybe I will call my guide tomorrow.

jim.

I am waiting a bit...will likely add-on at AKV...BUT I need to see some pics of the model rooms first. Does anyone think it is strange that they are selling without a model being done?

I have a question, that maybe someone here knows the answer to. I just called MS and they said that until the Villas actually open, we can not use the AKV points! Not sure how this makes any sense though. I don't see the point in adding AKV pts if I can't even use them until after September when they open.

If you consider that points are essentially night stays in a resort. And when you book a night on points you are actually trading your owned resort night for someone elses. Then you can't trade a night in a place that doesn't exist yet for one that does. If you do, you are short changing the system and fellow resort owners.

Diane:

Yes I got all of the incentives. The key was I ordered all 5 50-pointers at the same time, same contract titling. My guide, the great Kelly Jo did the rest!

-Tony

P.S. If I wasn't financing for a year, I could have had 10 25-pointers......

:cool1:

Are you SURE you're not me? :lmao:

Okay, then am I, You?

TIA

OK, so on May 16th, existing members who bought AKV, have to use thier other resort points to book AKV for September and beyond? And what about those that bought for the first time at AKV and only have AKV points. How will they book June 6th, if they can't even use their points until September and beyond?

LOL, well yes, I plan on AKV before the end of the month. Couldn't quite convince DH about the 2 50 point contracts to get the incentive, but he has agreed to more than 50, so it's looking like 55-65 will be the number we settle on. Actually, I think I will LOVE AKV!!! I am a big animal lover (dog breeder ane exhibitor for those who don't know me well), so AKV is a place I will want to stay at least a few days each trip. We are thinking maybe using just a couple of days each trip at the end after we have seen guests off from OKW. We usually have guests with, and we have discovered it is great to have 3-5 days to ourselves after guests, so a studio or 1 bedroom at AKV sounds perfect for that to me! Don't give up on my ability to talk him into 100 points yet.;)

:cool1: My hubby just told me to go ahead & add on, so we're founding members too!!!

I loved the AKL and can't wait to try it out!!!

Your're booking stays at September out. That's when rooms are available in the system for a swap. But before September 1, you'll have more points than rooms, hence the disparity Disney blocks. But as of June 6th I can "trade" my SSR room points for a stay at AKV the same way a new AKV owner can "trade" their points to stay at SSR.

I'm sure you will love AKV. It will be a great place to relax each trip.

It's just that, ever since you started posting about buying there, I've had this vision in my mind of them laying out the red carpet for you on your first stay, with African dignitaries welcoming you and your entourage (I guess that would be your DH!) for your first official visit to AKV. Other "citizens" of OKW will be on hand, shouting "Long live the queen!" as you walk by. :worship: :worship: :worship:

You don't breed corgis by any chance? That would certainly make your royal persona complete! (For those who don't know, the queen of England loves corgis and has several of them.)

Starting on May 16th only AKV points can be used to book at AKV. From June 6th on, any DVC points can be used to book AKV, subject to the 7-month window of course.

If a nonmember purchases a contract at AKV prior to September they can begin making reservations as of May 16th for dates of stay in September or later, using their AKV points.

I'll give your some ammunition, then ;). We just put a deposit down on 2 50-point contracts at AKV. We had planned on only 75 points so we could bank and borrow and stay at AKV every other year. BUT ... I compared 75 points at $101 ($7575) and 100 points at $93 ($9300) and calculated that the extra 25 points would "only" cost us $1725 or $69 each. It's amazing how you can make numbers do exactly what you want! :lmao:
