UPDATED.....DVC Watches! What number? Where are the 500+?

Tarheel, I called BWV and asked for the General Store gift shop, they have 2 gift shops there. It was the General Store that let me fax in my DVC card and I had to beg and that person then checked (he said an outright no at first) and we he checked, the other person said I could fax in the card. Good luck!

After three weeks of mix-ups with merchandise services, received my watch today--ladies #31. Ordered originally around the 18th of August from VWL, but received a man's watch instead of a ladies. The CM handling the exchange said that they still have a few watches in the warehouse and will receive a new shipment in a few weeks, which probably explains why we've seen nothing over 500.

That's great news belle! And the lowest number! Glad they finally worked it out for you.

Looks like there's been a bit of a slow down in DVC Watch activity lately. I haven't even seen many being listed on eBay. Should pick up with the Food & Wine Festival coming up and a lot of DVC members having visits planned during that time.

We'll be there just before F&W and are hoping we can find a set still available. I'll be sure to post if successful.

Just curious, are you all wearing your watches or are you just keeping them as collectibles in the case??

I am wearing mine. I love looking at it every now and then. The only time I don't wear it is when I am riding my motorcycle. If things don't go my way and I hit the pavement, I wouldn't want to scratch my watch. LOL

We plan on wearing ours every time we visit WDW. After we get back, we'll put them away in the case for next time.

LOL This gave me a chuckle. Glad to see you got your priorities straight. Broken leg? No problem, just DON'T let the DVC watch get scratched!!! ;)

We are wearing ours. I'm not a "collectible" person. I got the watches because they are nice and are a DVC exclusive, but I don't buy functional things to just put them on a shelf and collect dust.

The case is in my safe deposit box at the bank until our next trip.

Someone had asked earlier if anyone bought a watch with the #500 and/or above. Did anyone?

According to Liferbabe's list on the first page, it appears that no one has reported a #500 or higher watch yet.

I had posted a couple of days to tell my saga of finally getting a women's watch after supposedly failing to get one on the first try. Imagine my surprise when the UPS truck delivered ANOTHER watch yesterday. So flabbergasted I still haven't taken it out of the package.

May give it to one of my daughters. May return it when we visit on 10/1. Imagine THEIR surprise that someone will try to return a watch!

I just won't do the ebay thing. It seems like capitalizing on a mistake and taking advantage of other folks.

Might you consider offering it to a DVC member here who hasn't been successful in obtaining one at cost?

I've been reading all these posts on the DVC watches and wished I had known about them on my trip in August. I will be going back in October. What are my chances of getting one?

I usually get a watch every year at WDW but didn't get one this last trip. Maybe the WDW gods were trying to tell me something!

TiggMan and ZachnElli-

Thanks for the help! I got through again to BWV main gift shop and was told, sure, we have watches! How many do you want?

Yee Haw! I got men's 466 and ladies 298!

BTW, they never asked for membership number or anything. No shipping was charged, either, just tax.

We have a man's 281 and a woman's 441. Ordered them at Hilton Head in June and received them about a month ago. Sorry I haven't posted sooner, but school started and this has been one of the busiest for teachers. Retirement cannot come too soon!

Finally decided to spend the money and I called yesterday to the BWV General Store. Talked with a gentleman named Christopher who was Spanish-speaking. He checked and yes they have the watches. Ah, but I'm not staying there? Oh - well, at first he tried to direct me to call MS and order thru them, but I kept saying that I should be able to order thru them. Then he tried to direct me to "the DVC office at OKW" but I still was firm that I should be able to order thru them.

Finally - after he talked with someone a second time - he came back and said all set, and just took my VISA and my DVC number. Didn't have to fax anything. I think I will send on a note to the store about Christopher - he really did try to help me and I just needed to "educate" him a bit. He never became frustrated or anything, so gets kudos for finally getting to the right answer.

I ordered one men's and one ladies. Will post the #'s when I get them. I hope they are nice! My DH loves his Tigger watch and has had many people as him where he got it. I bought it for 75% off at the Disney Store when they were discontinuing the watches. And since I was a CM then, I got an additional 20% off. I'm still not sure if I ever really paid anything - it was almost free!
