When did Sam’s Club stop allowing you to use GCs to purchase Disney GCs? Did I miss something?

The registers wouldn’t allow it when I was there this weekend. First tried Scan & Go (where it seems you can’t pay with Sam’s GCs? How is that allowed?), then self-checkout, then a regular register. Employees were friendly and helpful and seemed as surprised as I was that it wasn’t working.

It’s been a while since I’d last tried, but I thought this was still working.

The GC for GC hasn't been working. I'm not sure exactly when it ended. Sometimes it does work at Walmart, but YMMV. You can pay with a gift card in Scan and Go, but you can't buy gift cards using Scan and go, no matter what payment method you use.

There were many DP in the previous DGC thread that was locked. It was YMMV because while the system accepted it, the cashiers may block it. Some people could routinely use it and others had no friendly stores at all. (And some were downright rude, accusing the DISers who tried of money laundering or fraud and stuff. It could be a hassle trying to find a location that works.) Probably part of why it's not widely known (and I'm sure for those that it works for they'd like to keep it that way ) but another part is not all BBB even have 3rd party GC for sale which also creates a niche.
However, if some BBB have self checkout now, that could increase the chance for success since the human process was the main barrier (once you found a store with 3rd party GC). I'd still consider it a YMMV play given all the factors that have to line up.

Personally I'd only select BBB GCs if I planned to buy something there anyway so you have a fall back. When I was doing this there was always a wedding registry or something there, so my worse case was just spending the GC on that.

I do remember how horrible BB&B cashiers treated customers and still do to this day. You're right, it became YMMV. From what I recall, it was to the point no one posted success on the old thread and certainly not on this two year old thread. Ahem, @Jing
For anyone that has been able to currently use BB&B gc to secure 3rd party gc's, I'm thinking it's extremely rare and for that I cannot add it to the DP's.

Why yes, yes you did. Ya didn't read the DP's for Sam's Club.
I don't know off hand when the change began either, but posts started coming in and they couldn't be ignored. Sam's was listed as YMMV for about a year, maybe less, then ultimately became a dead zone. However, this could be like BB&B, but if the majority of us cannot buy 3rd party gc's and only a very very few can, I consider it dead. Though this should not prevent you from trying.

I've been earning a lot of gift cards through market research and I like to flip those to Disney Gift Cards. Normally I get paid in a digital VISA so it's not a problem.

Today I got one that gave me these choices(plus a few others that wouldn't work):

Yesterday I created a list of sale items to buy at LL Bean for DS & DH but before purchasing anything online, I wanted to make sure on the sizes with same or similar items. I really wish people would include their measurements, height and weight when posting an online review. Anyway.

They looked around, picked out a few things and tried stuff on. With my phone, I was able to compare apples to apples, add to my online cart, read reviews etc. Sweet.

Even though majority was ordered online, I used DH's 10% Military discount and Rakuten 10% Cash Back.

About that discount, you can longer stack a % off with another % off offer. This was new to me, I don't know when LL Bean changed their policy but they did. You can stack a $ off with a % off still. Good to know!​

Best Date Ever!

Unfortunately it didn’t take place on Valentine’s Day so this won’t count!

While my guy and I were three months into our courtship, he told me we were going to a costume party on my birthday. You know, the day before Halloween. I went as Glinda the Good Witch and he was a dapper pirate dressed to the hilt. He picked me up from my parents house in his white chariot (Ford Mustang) and we took off! I really had no clue where he was taking me but it was a long drive and the snow was coming down hard. I was so scared, accidents and flashing lights were everywhere on I-25. White knuckles for sure as visibility put us to a crawl. We finally arrived to a Halloween Costume Party in one of Denver’s famous bars, I was very very pleased, excited and relieved! After getting ourselves situated, he led me out on the dance floor and as he twirled me around there they were all my friends and family, dancing around us. I’ll never forget how special they all made me feel, it was the best date ever!

Okay, I’ll throw my story in.

Back in 1999/2000 I was in my mid20s and had just broken up with my college boyfriend (he cheated) and I had a few friends I used to talk with on a message board, similar to this one. One of them I had known for about a year, and we talked quite a bit via PM and Email, as well as general board discussion.

I mentioned in January (2000) that I was frustrated that I would be spending Valentine’s alone this year, and he messaged me back that I “didn’t have to spend it alone”, which really shocked me, because I wasn’t thinking that…This was in days before eharmony, etc.

long story short, a month later he flew out to visit me over Valentines. It was our first date! We went out for a fancy dinner and went to a movie.

He then convinced me to apply for a job at a “dream” employer for my field, that happened to be based out of the same major city he lived in. i would never have had the nerve to apply for something like it. It was a dream job, think Google/Microsoft/Disney type thing. So definitely no one ever questioned why I was moving across the county… when I actually got the job!

Our 20th wedding anniversary is next month, we are spending it at Disney World!
