Thanks for posting! :thumbsup2

Just saying, I don't have any DP's on the free 1 day pass, how many times you can use it etc. Is a credit card and your mailing address tied to their system.

I just checked and it is still on sale through 9/6/21 based on the BJs "Big Savings" book.

I just checked BJs price for $100 Disney GC is $96.00. Target price is $95

Right the reason you'd use BJs is to combine it with a Cashback Site and also combine it with your credit card cashback.

As I said in my original post about this, if you have a Discover card, you can get 5% cashback if you pay on BJs.com using PayPal up to $1500. Combine with 1.5% cashback on Rakuten as an example.

That effectively reduces the price of a $100 gift card to $96 - $4.80 cashback from Discover - $1.44 from Rakuten = $89.76 from BJs versus $95 from Target (maybe $94.05 when combined with 1% cashback).

The $100 gift card is only 4% off though, the $500 gift card is 5% off, so similar purchase: $475 - $23.75 (5% discover) - $7.12 (1.5% CB) = $444.13 versus $475 from Target for a $500 gift card.

Target is definitely a good deal everyday, and it is especially good if you're already in the parks and need to reload a gift card, you can buy a Target Disney eGiftcard at 5% off with your Redcard and then load that into disneygiftcard.com and transfer the funds onto a physical gift card you have with you for instant discounts.

BIG GIFT CARD NEWS!!!!!!

(Well, maybe this is old gift card news, and I've just been really dumb for years, but this was new news to me, and I am VERY excited about it!)

You can add Disney GCs to Apple Wallet (or the Android equivalent)! The caveat: I *think* this will only work if you start with an e-gift card from shopDisney. When you get the confirmation email, it's got an option to add the e-GC to Apple Wallet. Click that button and voila! (See pictures)
Just show the bar code at any Disney register, and they'll scan it. No more fumbling around with physical GCs all the time!

The drawback, as mentioned, is that I think you can only do this with an e-GC bought from shopDisney. I checked e-GCs from Target, Sam's and Raise, and didn't see any "Add to Apple Wallet" option. I also don't see how you'd add a physical GC. BUT, you could easily buy the lowest-priced e-GC from shopDisney ($25) (make sure it's an e-GC - any of the really cute designs are going to be physical cards), and then use disneygiftcard.com to add money to that e-GC and thus to the GC in your Apple Wallet. I've still got confirmation emails (yes, I'm an email hoarder as well as a "stuff" hoarder) from old e-GC purchases at shopDisney, so I'm just going to reload those GC numbers and use those on future trips.

The other drawback is that Apple Wallet will always just show the starting balance, but every receipt you get will have the new balance after you buy something, so that's not really different from a physical card, except that it's maybe a little more confusing.

Am I just dumb? Is this old news? Because I’m kind of irrationally excited about this! 😂
I was able to add a Disney Gift Card to my Apple wallet last Sept. I wasn't following this thread at the time so I didn't know it wasn't a known thing.

I’m learning from other Disney friends that apparently it’s a known thing to everyone but me 😂😂
I only found out because like you I had an e gift card and I saw where I could link it. If I knew it wasn't known I would have shared it. It isn't really talked about (at least that I have seen)

I didn't know it was a thing either. It's been added to Post #6 Cashback (CB) Portals Discounted Gift Card Websites & Apps

Since you've been using Apple Wallet at WDW, can it be used in shops too? Do you have to provide a card number each time you place an order or will it save the DGC?

While on the topic of adding DGC on apps, the same can be done when utilizing My Disney Experience mobile app .
You can pay for meals with a Disney Gift Card or a Disney eGift Card.
You will have to provide a card number each time you place an order because the app will not save that information. Please note that only one Disney Gift Card can be applied per order, but you can use it in combination with another credit or debit card to complete your purchase.

That's a bit tedious.

I'm a little off today, busy thinking about WDW After Hour Boo Bash which starts today in 6 hours.

We'll be attending on Oct 29th! Anyone else attending?
I've got a few Starbucks gc's for treats and plenty of Disney GC for souvenirs... if still available.

Some info on this from another Disney group I’m in:
“I’ve been doing it for over a year. Having done 2-3 trips, it’s good in theory and works great for retail shops. But If they don’t have a scanner at your register, the numbers are very hard to read. They don’t print them with a space every four numbers like a CC has. When you spend at sit down restaurants, it’s kinda awkward unlocking your phone and handing it over to the server. The plus is that you always have your GC with you and it’s easy to roll the parks wallet free. Another plus is that it will sync to an Apple Watch. It’s a stand alone card and unlike Starbucks it doesn’t integrate with an app that updates the balance. We had a server at Boat House take the phone see $25 and only ran that amount when we had $1k max on the card.
food & wine/festival booths generally have a scanner, as do QS. Bars and TS restaurants typically don’t.”

A great tip I’ve heard and used is to save your GC number in the Notes app on your phone. Then you can cut and paste it into MDE when you mobile order.

I think this is big news! I wish I would have known that before my trip last week. It is a big pain to have to pull out the gift card every time I made a mobile order.

is Apple Wallet a payment option if you mobile order food?

Apple Pay is an option (which would charge it to your default credit card, not your DGC). As I mentioned above, my favorite tip to use GCs with mobile order is to save the GC number in my Notes app, and then just cut and paste.

Yes, it is. WDW adds Apple Pay for Mobile Order DFB - May 28, 2020
Keep in mind Apple Pay and Apple Wallet are different. Apple Pay uses your default credit card, whereas Apple Wallet can hold of bunch of cards, gift cards, airplane boarding passes, etc. Disney GCs can be added to Apple Wallet but not (I don’t believe) Apple Pay. (I could definitely be wrong though!)
